Not usually a fan of spiders, but this tiny one is catching bugs near my mini garden. And it’s pretty in its own way.

A pair of hares were in the paddock as we arrived yesterday and again early this morning. From the web: “The hare asks you to celebrate life and those around you, building a home and creating your dreams, making way for new life and new beginnings”. An auspicious sign for Friday.

Respite from the moving process. City house is all but empty, but the bush (&a real bed) beckoned. Final move from the city is Friday.

New owners of the house came today for their final inspection before settlement next week. Wanted an orientation session on how to work things and look after the pool, which we graciously did. Things may not be so good for the abundant birdlife as they have a cat that they allow outside. 😢

My favourite picture. I've loved this since I was a small child and drew my interpretation of it. Blessed to have picked up a print in Kyoto from a gallery some time back.

Late lunch today with more boxes packed. Today’s taste sensation was toasted sourdough with a slice of sharp cheddar cheese and topped with slices of a chilli infused pickled onion and slices of cucumber. 3 different kinds of crunch! Dry, spicy and cooling.

Apples have set a record crop this year. I guess having the lavender bush close by attracted the bees to pollinate the apple blossom. Hand these (and the house) over to be cared for by new owners in 10 days.

Not going to be running the program to help people with lived experience prepare to study for qualifications in Mental Health next year as it’s not viable to travel 85km (170km round trip) for the sessions. 😞 Will have to research the new location for options.

Trying out a new snack combo- celery sticks with crunchy PB & pickled ginger. Interesting! Next up to try is celery/PB and umeboshi. (Salted plums). 😲

Milestone anniversary today.
Arrival at Fremantle as child of 10 Pound Poms. 🚢
Can still remember the heat, the wide open blue sky and a sense of freedom on arrival.

My 21st birthday present to me. That was a challenging year as well. Over 100K kms done on it. A bit sad and sorry for itself at the moment but once we’re settled at the new place, a restoration is on the way.

Packing up the house for the big move at the end of the month - this has probably been the longest year of my life.

The US should not be allowed to make Australia complicit in nuclear war. 50 years ago Whitlam believed that and he was right.

It’s time to end AUKUS. Close Pine Gap.

Not just a flower, but a Water Lily bloom from my pond - reminds me that beauty can rise from the mud below it. Sending energy to any who need to be reminded of their own resilience and what beauty they share with others through their interactions in the ether.

A common misconception about grey haired older women is that they are computer illiterate. Beg to differ… from the early 1990’s through to the 2010’s I integrated computer programs and Japanese language into the classes I taught. This group would be 40 years old by now!
