At least in England, most things happen digitally and they have to be written in a way that it's accessible to people.

Obviously the UK has quirks and nonsense en masse too, but Germans really love their PAPER in paperwork...

It's been quite the journey to get my passport renewed while living in the UK - being exposed to German bureaucracy again for the first time in years certainly has been a healthy reminder why I left the country 🤪

I've made it back home 🙌

Almost got rejected again by Ryanair, but this time I managed to talk to a reasonable human who took the time to listen to the explanations for a minute and looked up the notes. 😌

UK boarder control was friendly and no problem with the ID + share code for settled status

Second attempt at leaving Germany to get back home to the UK, where I live.

Wish me luck that the printouts of my legal status, my rights and government guidelines will suffice this time to convince Ryanair they should let me board 🙃

Yep! Border check was no issues and actually even tried to help by confirming they can see I live in the UK...

I even offered to show the UK Gov website with the rules, but he did clearly not care 🙃 Probably cheaper to reimburse a passenger than "let in the wrong person and get fined"

Was supposed to travel back to the UK from Germany today and got refused boarding by Ryanair.
Tried to use my ID, which is fine with Settled Status, but the guy clearly did not know or care about my explanations...
Fun, now I'm stuck here til Sunday 🥲
