Here’s some of my personal favorite pieces of my fanart for one of my most beloved series of ALL TIME

A digitally illustrated comic book page combining the Super Mario Bros. series with Dark Souls, two of my favorite game series ever. Mario, dressed in the Elite Knight Set from Dark Souls, wanders through The Depths, holding a torch aloft with his big metal hammer draped over his shoulder as he trudges through water.

He then emerges into a gigantic open area with broken pillars reaching into the darkness above. Some creature off panel screeches, causing Mario to drop both the hammer and the torch in fear.

Mario then stands in shadow at the feet of a horrible combination of Dorrie from the Mario series (also known as Nessie) and The Gaping Dragon from DS1. The monsters life bar goes off the panel. Art by me, Jeff Pennington.
