Digital painting and design piece based on the Star Trek Deep Space Nine episode “Little Green Men.” Quark, a Ferengi with large ears, sharp teeth, and an extremely gaudy patterned suit, is pointing his death ray (index finger) at a human woman in a 1940’s style military uniform with curly hair and a terrified look on her face. An overlay features text in the style of a 50’s sci-fi B-movie, featuring a logo which reads “Little Green Men” in shocking text over a glowing green Earth and under a small green UFO. Text in the bottom right list the major player actors of the DS9 episode in the style of a classic movie poster. Art by me, Jeff Pennington. Digital illustration created for the indie game Poulet Poulet. Poulet, a spherical chicken wearing sunglasses with a red quoff, is posing jauntily in the air overtop of a bustling world filled with enemies hopping around, orbs to collect, treasures to find, and different biomes stretched across its surface. Islands and clouds float in the air improbably all around the sphere. Art by me, Jeff Pennington. Digital painting of Mega Man standing strong, his fist clenched, facing left at his enemies, the robot masters, from the video game Mega Man 2. They are, from top left: Air Man, Wood Man, Quick Man, Metal Man, Crash Man, Flash Man, Heat Man, and Bubble Man. All of the Robot Masters have red glowing eyes and are standing on a black, shadowy field tightly packed together in a frame beyond Mega Man’s depth. Beyond their frame is space and speckled stars. The Mega Man 2 box art logo resides in the top left. The designs of Mega Man and the robot masters are all those originally created by Hitoshi Ariga for his manga series Mega Man Megamix. Digital painting based on the Nintendo Switch video game Super Mario Odyssey. Mario, wearing his original inverted color outfit from the first few games he appeared in, is riding a yellow Vespa on a city street in a fish-eye lens perspective. He’s smiling broadly and looking up at the sky, his head tilted to the side and eyes off in the distance. A small iOS messenger word bubble appears below that states “this ur uber, am outside” implying that Mario has texted you this photo and is here to pick you up for Uber. Art by me, Jeff Pennington.

It’s my birthday! Which isn’t super exciting but what would be is if you RT my art around today to celebrate. I’d appreciate it and maybe someone looking to hire an artist could find me!

Digital painting of Captain Sisko of Star Trek Deep Space Nine as the 1950’s science fiction writer Benny Russell, with the ghostly presence of the actual Sisko hovering contemplating over his shoulder. Russell wears a fedora, gold rimmed glasses, and a suit and tie and has a look of disbelief on his face. His right glasses lense has the reflection of the space station Deep Space Nine covering it. Digital illustration combining Nickelodeon’s Doug with Kentaro Miura’s Berserk. The Berserk logo has been over-written with the Doug logo as if the red kanji text translates to “Doug.” Doug Funnie is partially dressed as Guts and carries his massive demon slayer sword in the foreground while the Band of the Hawk in the mid ground is represented by the fictional band The Beets. In the back ground Skeeter Valentine, dressed as Griffith, looks into the distance with a blank smile while Patti Mayonnaise, dressed as Casca, looks contemplative and distant behind him. Rolling clouds lead into the sunset in the far distance. Digital portrait of Elden Ring character Malenia, Blade of Miquella. She is touching a digitized butterfly from the Kirby series of video games because that’s what the client wanted and I did it even though it’s kinda made this portrait not of the zeitgeist but whatever. The touch of the butterfly is digitizing Malenia, her lower half already transforming into broken apart glowing pixels. She wears a golden prosthetic arm and golden winged valkyrie’s helm, dark red cloak with a furred neckline, and a series of overlapping robes with golden accessories. What can be seen of her right arm is rotted into an indiscriminate inhuman tone. Her red hair is flowing from beneath her helmet, framing her body on either side. Digital painting of a fish-eye lens view of Mario from Super Mario Odyssey wearing his original NES-era color scheme outfit and riding a Vespa with his head tilted up toward the viewer and a big smile on his face. He’s pulled up to the curve parking on a city street marked with several decals. An iPhone text bubble below reads “this ur uber am outside” as if Mario is texting you himself.

Resident Evil is popular for many reasons. Missing amongst those reasons, however, is the consistency of its protagonists.

Today, @jeffpennington.art drops in to tell us how Jill Valentine's design goes from hot to not over the span of a few years. #WelcomeToEZIYODA

I got to write another article for EZIYODA!

This one’s chock full of jokes and japes but plenty of jeers for a series of decisions that tanked the explosive 90’s popularity of Resident Evil’s first protagonist and poster child - Jill Valentine.

Happy 40th Anniversary to Super Mario Bros.!

Here’s some of my personal favorite pieces of my fanart for one of my most beloved series of ALL TIME
Digital illustration based on instruction manual art from Super Mario World but drawn in the style of an early 2000’s era Cartoon Network show. Needlessly complicated, huh?

Mario and Luigi ponder over a Yoshi egg in the middle of a forest. Art by me, Jeff Pennington. Digital illustration of Mario performing a backwards long jump glitch up the endless stairs in Super Mario 64. He’s yelling “HOO!!” As he leaps backwards, surrounded by a golden ring for decorative purposes. Art by me, Jeff Pennington. A digitally illustrated comic book page combining the Super Mario Bros. series with Dark Souls, two of my favorite game series ever. Mario, dressed in the Elite Knight Set from Dark Souls, wanders through The Depths, holding a torch aloft with his big metal hammer draped over his shoulder as he trudges through water.

He then emerges into a gigantic open area with broken pillars reaching into the darkness above. Some creature off panel screeches, causing Mario to drop both the hammer and the torch in fear.

Mario then stands in shadow at the feet of a horrible combination of Dorrie from the Mario series (also known as Nessie) and The Gaping Dragon from DS1. The monsters life bar goes off the panel. Art by me, Jeff Pennington. Digital painting of a fish-eye lens view of Mario from Super Mario Odyssey riding a small yellow Vespa scooter and looking up at the viewer with a smile on his distorted features. He’s parked on the street at the edge of the sidewalk. An iPhone message appears below stating “this ur uber am outside.” Art by me, Jeff Pennington.

This is Mera. She is a mid boss Chimera monster that the protagonist comes across. She starts as a big intimidating boss but shrinks down to travel with the main character. She doesn’t want to be a monster. She wants to be a traveling merchant. #oc #character #art #conceptart #illustration
