A healthy society, for me, is one where our median leisure time increases, & where large land & property portfolios are taxed so the truly idle can't live off collecting rent from generationally-owned land. Monopoly taught us that's a perverse & deeply unfun system that impoverishes the majority.

friend/mentor Fred Goodman differentiated between "fict"- a fact created by author of a work of fiction, "fact" as "only a fact to a faction" & finally "fuct" - a "fact that has been sold to folks on grounds that it's good for them when 'in fact' it's just the opposite" -I think about this often...
