12th and Davis downtown Portland 10/8/25 at 1:24 pm.

There is no burning hell hole except in the White House.

This is downtown Portland yesterday afternoon. There is no danger here. The danger lies within the WH.

One of my friends is a coffee roaster. His purchase of 500lbs of green coffee beans came with an extra $600 tariff.

This is good for Oregon and good for the Oregon National Guardsmen. The Guard is there for us in times of natural disaster . . .and Trump is not a natural disaster.

The furniture tariff is on top of Antidumping duties that are over 200% for China.

These tariffs are cumulative and crushing.

Concurring, it appears that Trump has never visited Portland. Oregonians will not put up with this crap. We are fiercely independent.

Remember, the troops are Oregon National Guard, they are members of our community.

Ah the wonderful story of an Icelandic equine in Tierra del Fuego. Will there be a Germanic or Incan accent?

Anti dumping duties (ADD) against Chinese furniture manufacturers started in ~2008. This week 8 Chinese manufacturers were accessed the China Country Wide ADD Rate of 216.01%.

None of this has to do with the president.

There are multiple ADD cases already in effect.

The best tactic against Trump and the troops to Portland is disengage.

Escort the troops to Powell’s book store with a quick stop at the food carts. Escort them down the waterfront. Treat them like they are guests of our fine State and City.

Oh and don’t forget the bullhorns announcing ICE.

Yesterday at the Hillsboro Airport HIO ( extension of Portland International) we saw fighter jets training. We almost never see this except for air shows

I’m 15 minutes from downtown. The war in Portland is contained to 3-4 city blocks around the ICE facility.

Portland is to the ICE as Ukraine is to Russia. It all ends when Trump pulls out.

Look it up. 23% of the largest 100 US cities are run by Republican mayors.

Two scenarios for increased spending:

1) Prices are continuing to rise so the same volume of purchases represents x.x% higher spending.

2) Americans are heading to the Argentinian mindset of spend your money now or it will be worthless tomorrow.

Let’s say that the generals and admirals decide in mass that they will not swear an allegiance to anyone other than the constitution and tells the administration to go pound bone spurs. What happens then?

Looks pretty much like excessive force, assault and battery.

Any time a person can walk away and de-escalate, that is the best choice.
