Speaker Johnson officially announces another week off for the House. That means 20 work days in 18 weeks since July 4. The House is currently scheduled to be out the week of Nov. 10. It's not clear if that will change.

I detested Cuomo before he decided to run in the primary. I’m offended that as a Democrat he didn’t accept the vote of NYC Democrats & support Mamdani, instead opting to run against him.

Then he ran the least effective & most offensive campaign in the general election I can recall in my 75 yrs.

On Sept 5 I attended a ceremony honoring the Harlem Hellfighters of WWI (my husband’s grandfather was a Harlem Hellfighter) & used the ladies’ room in the visitors’ area. It was immaculate & worked perfectly.

Wouldn’t this mean after the elections they won’t be able to claim non-citizens caused the elections to be stolen.

But gerrymandering could eliminate their need to contest the elections.

Fingers crossed on 11/4 when my town & county may be able to flip our leadership blue.

Undocumented immigrants can get drivers’ licenses in 19 states & DC, with proof of ID & residency, even without a Social Security number. These licenses are often marked as "not for federal purposes" & can’t be used for federal ID, such as boarding domestic flights or entering federal buildings.
