Dr’s motivation in failing to escalate Martha’s care was described as seeking to “manage the family anxiety” - echoing the judgement attached (by some) to normal human emotional responses that we heard about in the @nuffieldbioethics.bsky.social work, and showing just how much harm it can result in

Very welcome news - during my work with parents of critically ill children I heard lots about the unseen impacts on families, from the emotional to the financial. This will hopefully help with navigating such impossibly difficult situations
