Echoing what @eriknook.bsky.social said - you will not regret taking on this truly stellar NSF recipient!
Kristina Olson and I have a truly incredible advisee who won an NSF but had no luck on clinical psych PhD applications this round. Anyone able to consider another candidate this late in the process? Trust me, you won't regret it!

NEW—Mahmoud Khalil's wife:
"I was born & raised in the Midwest. My parents came here from Syria…They believed living in the US would bring a sense of safety & stability. But here I am…weeks before I’m due to give birth to our first child…I feel more unsafe & unstable than I have in my entire life."

seriously PIs, talk to your contacts at NIH, NSF, etc. they're trying to help

this morning I chatted with the SRO of my cancelled study section, she's already working to reschedule it

I thanked her for making it work, & just said it meant a lot to me that SROs, POs, etc are keeping science going
I chatted with a program director at NIH for a half hour just now

It's clear that the people who make American science happen are doing everything they can to keep making it happen in a very difficult environment

They deserve our respect and gratitude

Here's the pretty journal version. For a paper about names, it seems appropriate that my full first name is shown. I've always abbreviated part of my first name as X. in my pubs, but it was nice to see my full first name in the proof so I kept it this time.

🚨 New article, now online! 🚨

Really proud of this one! In this article, we demonstrate that the way in which identity centrality is conceptualised (either as identity importance or identity salience) matters for mental ill-health outcomes for LGBTQ+ individuals!
