See you later, after I am definitely successful at all the things I try

One of the few Joe Buck lines that will stay with me forever is "We'll see you later tonight!" after Ortiz's walkoff in extra innings from the 2004 ALCS which of course led to an even longer extra innings game the next game.
Loved it. But also hated it.
It's definitely one of the hardest things to be done in the game and one maybe worth breaking some "hey let's look some stuff up" glass. I know this is where I learned where the needle upgrade merchant was because I spent like 90 minutes on this fight with a base needle.
I missed the needle vendor entirely until basically the endgame somehow so I went way too long (and definitely for this boss) with a level 1 needle 😩
The easier pogo-ing is what a lot of people bring up with the reaper crest, but the real thing I would miss so much is the uppercut slash you do when you attack when you dash. It feels SO GOOD when you land that hit on fools.
The hardest boss for me so far, definitely spent the longest time on them, but man I felt like I was Neo by the time I finally broke through.
My heart says 5, my brain says 11.
It took me an embarrassing long time to realize you get a special attack animation if you slash while running and now I just try to run at every enemy regardless of the consequences because it feels so sick.
You're not wrong but I did rather like Ys X, I think it's mostly just that IX is *such* a VIII retread that you are constantly reminded of a better game that is almost the same thing in construction.
Immediate thought was Metroid Dread, which is not *awful* but it's super unmemorable in a franchise with some all-timers.
It really is in the conversation for GOAT soundtracks.
I got really burnt out in this game because while I was enjoying it felt like every single thing you do in that game takes 2-3 times longer than you'd expect, especially the dungeons. You really need to plan an entire evening around doing some parts of it.
Outside of S1 being kind of cheap and unmemorable it's a lot of fun! I'm really excited for more Cinderella Gray especially.
Season 1 is cheap and can be skipped but the rest are genuinely pretty fun silly sports anime. The one that just came out on Amazon (Cinderella Gray) is probably my actual favorite.
I had my doubts on 100 Line due to not really vibing with Kodaka's other works but it's been a lot of fun now that I've put time into it. Strong recommendation and I hope he and Uchikoshi are able to continue.
Gold Ship exudes extreme Dan energy.
I also really enjoyed it and was kind of surprised by how many people I feel didn't seem to enjoy the overall endgame including that fight.
It took me a while to find this but it was so absurd and out of nowhere especially with the camera shot so she has as much runway as possible to get close to the center of the frame.
But JRPG need fishing
It's funny after years of non-IGA Metroidvanias I went into Bloodstained with a "what can it offer" and then by the end was immediately hit with a cavalcade of "oh no one makes capital S Systems like Igarashi in a way that's nearly as compelling". It's rough around the edges but I enjoyed it a lot.
This game is so weird and definitely a bit of a black sheep for Ys but it was the first Ys I ever played and rented it so much so I have a weirdly huge amount of nostalgia for it. The Oath in Felghana remake might be one of my all-time favorite action RPGs at any rate.
It's so colorful and seems like it's going to be so much fun but there's just so little bite to any of the character writing and after a while the novelty/spectacle of the combat session animations really starts to wear out and just kind of feel repetitive.
