Picked up new glasses on Sunday. Bent them sitting on them today. That's a new personal best.

I'm not saying our dog gives her love easily but she once ran off looking for a DHL driver who showed her a bit of love. She's currently got separation anxiety for my mother, who has temporarily gone upstairs.

Got chatting with the chap who was minding our dog at doggy daycare today, I think he usually works on the farm. We talked farms. I said I'd been farming over in the East. He said he went East once when they had a fodder shortage. Weird the size of the fields, he said. 60 acres some of them.

Two more response papers to write this term, and it feels like this particular module has entirely gone over my head. I've struggled from the beginning to engage with it, and I'll be glad to see the back of it. Ah, well.

A friend has gone to Jamaica to support Hurricane Melissa recovery efforts. Was delighted to find her husband had never heard the old joke

"Kirsten's gone to the Caribbean to support Hurricane Melissa recovery efforts"
"Jamaica?"
"No, she went of her own accord"

Convinced I'd lost my wallet, just searched the car and marched Mrs N down the road to retrace my footsteps from this morning's dog walk, about to cancel all my cards then found said wallet in the trousers I was wearing yesterday and how are you this morning

Still the best Trek movie, in fact, sod it, it's going on again this afternoon.
Star Trek: First Contact was released 29 years ago today.

We'll be soon halfway between the film's release and First Contact Day (2063). 😄

The new nature versus nurture - was that person always deep down a nasty piece of work or were they radicalised by social media, OK, basically Twitter, and you only now see their true character?

Someone is offering some logs on Freecycle. I've asked them what species. I hope they don't think I'm being a dick.

Happy #InternationalMensDay to all the men trying to do better, and not be like the procession of absolute shithouses in Riot Women.

Today has been a very good day. Bottled 14 litres of sparkling cider and 10 litres still, and earlier today bagged up 780kg of bang tidy Cornovii wheat with some lovely people from #TamarGrowLocal.

Thinking of taking my website back to basics. Flash intro. Beatnik audio. Maybe a revolving mailbox gif. A carousel. A hit counter that looks like a digital clock.

This blister pack of button cell batteries says it's baby proof. It's also adult proof. Have many A&E departments have had to deal with people who've accidentally opened a vein trying to cut open blister packs of batteries?

Sloe gin done, but the sloes are getting a second go making sloe port. Just add a bottle of red wine and 100g sugar, shake and leave for a couple of months, drain, add 200ml brandy and bottle. Lush. www.permaculture.co.uk/articles/how...

Refilled some laundry detergent at a local refillery - no cheaper but no more packaging used. There are very good deals on 5 litre refill packs of Ecover at the moment so we've gone for a bunch of those. More housekeeping news as I have it.
