Brown bears weigh upward of 700 pounds (315 kilograms), even as omnivores. The most commonly eaten kinds of plants are fleshy roots, fruits, berries, grasses, and forbs. They can run pretty fast, reaching speeds of up to 35 miles per hour for very short sprints.
