Feels like there’s a lot World Rugby need to confront & improve upon before we reach the next World Cup. The sheer volume of offending is horrible: near perpetual offside, ruck killing, diving & theatrics, referee coercion, scrum lottery, etc. It’s become competitive cheating rather than rugby skill

Most positively for Glasgow/worrying for Dragons was that the hosts were fairly third gear for a lengthy part of the match too.

No idea why it’s still part of the game. Suspect many/most players & supporters would agree. Certainly Bath would, as Beno Obano going off last year helped get Leinster out of jail when under pressure in that European match. Feels like game/scoreboard impact of scrums is very unbalanced.

While it’s early days and I suspect results wise it’s going to prove a tough season for the squad, it’s already noticeable how quickly the fan base have adopted Jamie Ritchie as a club stalwart. Hugely well received & seems ‘their kind of player’ - (which always helps!)

I simply don’t understand how, yet again, he (at times correctly) penalised Edinburgh players for offences. Yet outright refused to penalise opposition players for the same offences. It isn’t just problematic for the sport, it’s dangerous.

While it could be hugely positive for him as a player & potentially for his ability at test match level too, losing Scott Cummings without a proven replacement of a similar caliber would be hugely damaging to that Glasgow squad.

Especially concerning to see him penalise Edinburgh players for seemingly dangerous activity, like croc rolls. Only to repeatedly ignore Munster players doing the same. It clearly demonstrates his appreciation of that danger - but then his willingness to allow Edinburgh players be put at risk.
