Lives on Narrowboat Eliza travelling the waterways of the UK. Married, non-binary gender - trying to just be happy in a good way. Traveller, beer drinker, photographer, walker and bossed around by Buster the Boat Dog 😃
What3Words
I would beg any waterways user to have the app What3Words on their phone. On Saturday I had to phone 999 for an ambulance when we were moored on the Staffs & Worcs canal, the fab ambulance guys found us relatively easily.

I’m delighted to post that yesterday afternoon I collected Andy from hospital. While there, he received 3 cardiac stents, needless to say he’s on loads of medication. From having his heart attack on Saturday to coming home on the following Wednesday is nothing short of miraculous. THANK YOU NHS #NHS

In two weeks time we’re going ‘Crazy’, donning our glam rock gear ‘Rocket’ to the past and going to see Mud - getting those ‘Tiger Feet’ on - it’ll be ‘Dynamite’ ‘For One Night’! In Nantwich for Christmas - falling trees allowing, so we won’t be ‘Lonely This Christmas’ 😃

This magnificent bench has recently been installed at Goose Beach (our name for it) just above The Hyde lock on the Staffs & Worcs canal. In memory of Alan Trevis Smith M.B.E. for his dedication to the canal.

What a beautiful frosty morning, at Hinksford lock on the Staffordshire and Worcestershire canal. Before anyone states the bloody obvious, yes it was cold!

Going backwards down through the mighty Bratch locks is definitely a first for us. The need for water and an enormous fallen tree meant we had to go about. A massive thanks to the CRT Volunteers: Sue, Chrissie, Eddy and Tom for their help!

On this day in 1971, I was at boarding school (if I’m honest NOT having the time of my young life) my mother told me that my father had died. Funnily enough, as I grow older the closer I feel towards him although I have no particular memory of him.
(my father towards the end of his wartime service)

A lovely Mandarin Duck who seems to be on his own with only Mallards to keep him company on the Staffordshire & Worcestershire canal near Bratch locks!

In 2019 Andy and I were privileged to visit Antarctica - on this day 6 years later we truly appreciate all the work and research carried out in the polar regions by LGBTQ people, respect on this Polar Pride Day

Just gone through the mighty Bratch locks on the Staffordshire & Worcestershire canal - we waited until we knew CRT Lockies were working, massive thanks to John & Tom who braved the elements and helped us through the locks.

On this day, commemorating all those died protecting or freedom. This commemorative plaque is for a very brave young man, First Lieutenant Arthur L. Brown USAAF, who died preventing his Thunderbolt crashing on the town of Nantwich on January 14 1944

Please remember, especially on this Armistice Day, all generations who fought to protect our freedom today 🙏

What a wonderful day to be out on the cut, whether boating, walking, or even taking photographs! Approaching Rocky Lock on the Staffs & Worcs canal, just north of Stourton.

Where we are now, on the Staffordshire and Worcestershire canal just north of Stourton. We've deliberately moved somewhere remote to avoid fireworks.

In 1966 an unstable spoil heap from the nearby coal mine engulfed Aberfan, killing 116 children and 28 adults - one of favourite composer’s wrote this in memorandum 😢

Currently moored in Kidderminster on the Staffordshire and Worcestershire canal. Anyone who’s travelled here will recognise this view, but with these wonderful autumn colours I just couldn’t resist!
