From Build Nova Scotia: The Shaw Wilderness Park trail from the parking lot to the dam site is now open. The trail was closed temporarily to accommodate work to replace the Williams Lake Dam. This marks the end of work on site for this year. Work will resume in the spring to replace the dam.

A fun fact for #NationalTreeDay: American larch, also known as tamarack, is a coniferous tree that is also deciduous. This means that unlike most other conifer species, whose needles remain in place all year long, this tree’s needles fall to the ground in autumn and grow back in spring!
