Fairport Convention devotee, yarn addict, fan of both archery and The Archers. Happily working in research support. U.K.
Happy second birthday to the artificial lens in my left eye, and thank you to the #NHS for restoring the sight in that eye.

#ShowMeYourKnits socktober. These are my latest completed ones. Stranded colourwork yet again because it's my favourite thing to knit, and it makes them nice and warm.

#showmeyourknits two sweaters I made for myself using my favourite technique of stranded knitting colour work. The blue one is a pattern from Simply Knitting magazine, and the tulip one is a Drops free pattern.

#ShowMeYourKnits scrappy fingerless mitts. They use up leftover buttons as well as yarn! The pattern is Scrapdealer mitts from Ravelry.

A nest of knitted mice for the UK Woman's Weekly magazine charity cat toy appeal. They were quick and fun to knit, and a good stash buster.

Found 200g of roving yarn for £2 in a charity shop. I'm not a fan of knitting with roving, so I'm spinning it on a drop spindle to give it more twist.

I repainted my garden shed, which feels like some sort of #widow rite of passage.

#showmeyourknits colourwork. The cardigan is a child-size one I made for charity, and the tulip jumper is a Drops pattern knitted in cotton that I made for myself. I love doing stranded knitting.

#showmeyourknits fitting in with this week's theme of love, this hat with a heart pattern combines my favourite blue and white colour scheme with my favourite technique of stranded colourwork.

So sad to hear of the death of David Lodge. As someone who's worked in research funding for years, it always amuses me that part of the plot of 'Nice Work' hinges on none of the characters knowing what "virement" means.

Christmas holiday knitting in progress. Pattern is Betsyanna Mitts by Snapper Knits.

Sweater completed! It took 3 months of evenings and weekends. I love knitting stranded colourwork.

My late beloved always wrapped Christmas presents beautifully, whereas when I do it, it looks like I've just thrown the present vaguely in the direction of some paper and Sellotape. So yet another way in which I miss him. #grief #widow

Scrappy blanket underway. It's just 10 rows of white alternating with 20 rows of a colour, all garter stitch. I'll probably alternate these strips with plain white ones. 🧶

I've just seen an otter in the River Bure. Amazing sight!

I've knitted lots of socks in my time, but these are some of my favourites - self-drafted. 🧶

The second sleeve of my colourwork jumper is well underway. I've done the back, front, and other sleeve all in the same all-over pattern, and surprisingly, I still love doing stranded #knitting

Hello Bluesky. Here are two neatly-stacked pets, Murphy and Amber, plus the other, less-tidy cat, Valerie.
