Now I remember why I enjoy doing those weeklong artist series so much — I don’t have to think nearly as hard about what to play on a given day!  At least then I know the artist, just gotta pick a song.  And the first day after one of those series is the hardest, ’cause I’m still in the mode and haven’t yet successfully switched gears.

I wrote the above poem in 2018, when storms were brewing in so many ways and on so many levels that we could not imagine would joggle our spirit. As I sit here, eight years later, I may not remember exactly what was happening that year, but I know we got through it. For that, I am grateful. So quietly looking through my window at the lingering ice from this weekend’s ice storm blanketing everything around us, this frosting of ice tells a poignant message of being “Frozen in Time” in this intensely focused moment.
