D-Day: The Normandy landings through rare photographs, 1944 - Rare Historical Photos
As the D-Day grows more distant in the mirror of history, the pictures remain with us, an uncompromising keepsake to that extraordinary, remarkable event.

I'm all for glamorous KS re-imaginings and glossy new editions. But you can just play like it's 1979 without the costs of 2025 :)

The virus particle is too small for the mask to catch, but the virus doesn't float freely (like smallpox), it travels in aerosolized droplets which the mask will catch.

Anyone who will be in Madrid between now and September should visit this exhibition. Graphic novels, like those of Paco Roca, have been a very important means of communicating experiences of the Spanish Civil War and Francoist regime. #Publichistory #🗃️ #Spain

For millennia the wolves were at the door, now they're inside our mobile phones and jumping out of every screen. Might have been an idea to properly regulate social media from the outset.

It's not about Putin's Brexity parrots or Morgan's dark or not so dark arts or the increasingly absurd AI scam; it's about energy bills, housing costs and the endless corporate subsidy junkies.

Why PM doesn't Mark Francois have to pay back the 5% of GDP that he gifted to European states as part of his defund Britain campaign? We are prepared to take this missing cash in the form modern currencies including sixpences, premium bonds and green shield stamps.

These are just a small selection of commonly used false arguments used by extremists to undermine genuine debate. The intention with false arguments is to use up time you could be spending on effective messaging aimed at those open to listening/ considering facts.

One reason why there's no point arguing with foreign-owned Brexit bombasts is that you're not being invited to debate. It's just a cynical mish mash of red herrings and tiresome provocations . . .

The functional reply to every livid outburst about betrayal from the Brexit fruit and nut brigade is it gives us £9,000,000,000 more to spend on genuinely affordable homes every year. We have too many hotels and not enough houses :)

There is just the one affordable, manageable, all round agreement easy solution available to block populism. Prefab homes, no RTB council homes, microhomes, . . . an army of publicly funded housebuilders. The silence of the left, centre and centre right on this has a name - complicity.

American Boris Johnson is frothing at the mouth over what are almost entirely discussions. It's almost as if after discarding 5% of Britain's economy/ £100,000,000,000+ every year he now wants to cause even more damage.
A quick run-down of what's been announced today

Almost all of it still to happen

A Dad's Army, a missile defence shield and/ or id cards will neither fund nor build the social cohesion that amounts to a defence. Building feckin council houses and genuinely affordable homes rapidly will.

Watching Palace fend off overfunded and overgroomed Man City was mildly amusing but short on any actual open play. The Women's FA Cup Final, Chelsea just went a goal up, is more evenly matched and considerably more entertaining as a result :)
