To become a member of the House of Lords means you accept establishment power and cronism over genuine democracy.

I have taken the view that anyone who has decided to join the House of Lords and become a Peer, have absented themselves from having anything useful to say.

What can the King do about Prince Andrew scandals? He should be completely cut adrift. We also need a full inquiry into what royal family knows. After all the queen paid £10 million to settle a serial abuse lawsuit with victoria giuffre - preventing a public trial.

More murkiness- Tony Blair met Jeffrey Epstein while prime minister - teed up by Mandelson and facilitated by UK civil servants.

It also reveals how wealth is enough for high level UK civil service and government to decide access to PM.

Whatever one thinks of a mandatory ID, there is an issue with this being a 'brit card'. Many citizens of UK dont identify themselves as 'Brits'. Including me. I'm a Scot. That is not a moot point for me and many others in Wales, Northern Ireland and England. www.the-independent.com/news/uk/poli...

After years of austerity and rising poverty, this ‘plan for change’ simply recycles New Labour’s 2001 Neighbourhood Renewal Strategy—then worth £10 billion in today’s terms, double what’s on offer now.

Deary me! Lib Dems and Davey gave lots of promises in 2010- no tuition fees, no austerity etc.. They and he ended up joining Tory government and doing reverse. Their deep centrism means they buckle to extremes.

Deary me! The British Monarchy and its various hangers on have had some seriously questionable relationships and attitudes toward convicted child sex offender- Epstein. Now its ex wife of epstein's good pal- Prince Andrew. Duchess of York called Epstein 'supreme friend'.

The BBC political editor is good at saying the bleeding obvious. He dumbs down politics, has no insight and makes it boring. He is lightweight.

Kruger's work on 'social covenant' is liked by centrists. Akin to #BigSociety and #communitypower - masking corporate power and hollowing out of welfare state - it sees to shift burden of public services onto communities, especially poor, under the guise of empowerment.

Many Labour MPs now saying that Lord Mandelson should not have been appointed in first place. Correct. However, shame those same MPs were not speaking out in February, when Mandelson was appointed.

If Starmer and government thought Mandelson was a good idea and 'singular talent' for US ambassador, then we can surmise one thing-they have a serious and worrying lack of judgement.

Of course! She is correct. Starmer and his advisers made a huge call, and wrong one. Also far too many MPs gave the initial appointment an easy ride.
