Great post by @richardjameschess.bsky.social highlighting some of the real problems with how we are raising our children. We’ve struggled to get our daughter the social life she needs because her peers have little time left over after their crammed schedule.

Those on the right: "I walk down the street and hardly anyone is speaking English. Being able to speak English is important for integration."
Firstly that's an exaggeration and secondly (this may blow your monolingual mind) they almost certainly speak English just fine too.

For all those people who think men don’t have an advantage in #chess: we do. We don’t suffer from harassment and discrimination. When we play in a tournament we don’t have to worry about anything other than the moves on the board. Unfortunately, for women that is often not the case.
