I think one of the things that sets the ‘mass effect dating sim’ genre apart is the fact that there is A GAME involved! Having to take time to puzzle, traverse a dangerous area, and impact the world is, I think, what they have to offer ++ a dating sim.

(Which is to say…also in a heartbeat tbh)

I see a lot of games TRY to nail that ironic, humorous tone with sarcasm and lampshading, but few can do it without looking jaded and mean to other games in the genre.

I loved the note that grey unifies disparate furniture styles - Victorian stuffed pillows with staid Shaker bases, MCM end tables with art nouveau couches. The flattening of style, allowing the post-modern and trend-illiterate (affectionate) to decorate how they like - or how their budgets allow.

I know the clean ‘em up genre is booming, but I’m not sure which are genuinely good and which are bandwagoning, so I’m being reserved on those for now, lol. Maybe Teardown? Less cleaning and more destruction, but I’m considering it.

I ended up romancing Suki for the same reason! And it was okay! But I didn't get that... -umph- from them, you know, the feeling like you wanna squeeze 'em with your teeth a little bit. Shake 'em in a hamster ball.

I know they've been working on the love interests, though!
