concentric superellipse() ❤️
(sick band name)
Some time ago I made a pen looking at CSS-only concentric border radii. A couple of days ago I added corner-shape: squircle but I didn't really like the result. Then I saw this post by @nerdy.dev and tried his value of 1.25 and I think it came out pretty good. Thanks Adam! codepen.io/botteu/pen/X...

A great, practical article teaching you about the newer sibling-index() and sibling-count() functions in CSS.

Staggered Animation with CSS sibling-* Functions
The new CSS sibling-index() (and -count()) functions are perfect for staggered timing affects. This goes a little step further staggering both before and after a selected element.

I really can't wait to show you my CSS layout course. I'm learning a few things along the way. Currently, I'm working on some grid explanation and it's so much fun to have some aha-moments.

Teaching is learning! ❤️

firefox users wont get them, those scrollbars will still use their system preference. and mobile, you can't force those, they'll always follow the OS
November 18, 2025 at 7:20 PM
yeah, you can use the -webkit- prefixed scrollbar pseudo elements and have always showing scrollbars

I'm still an easily excited CSS nerd!

I don't think much of my content will change, I just won't be voicing myself in standards work for a bit

At the CSS WG meeting, we're discussing possibly natively doing fit-text in CSS. Send us your use cases (with screenshots/links)!

Do you ever need to fit multi-line text?
Do you ever need to fit non-text inline elements (e.g. icons)?
Do you adjust font-size, letter-spacing, or both?

CSS masonry layouts have resolved to use grid-lanes as the syntax
November 13, 2025 at 3:37 AM
i see what you mean. however i think that's beyond single color picking? there's many tools out there that do take full advantage of color manipulation and palette tooling around color.js, could then pivot to another color tool?
