OOH I'm already there!! You are right, there is so many helpful stuff there 🥹 I fucking love meddle, but I remember that I spent a whole day trying to figure out why I wasn't able to export any maps with grass, the grass wasn't showing, never figured that out and made me quit exporting environments😭

So many good memories man.. I learnt Photoshop, CS3 version, with the lady that took care of the computer room when I was around 9yo. She was like 30yo and we learnt it together 3x/week because my school was in a neighbor city, and I had 4hrs to kill every day until my transportation arrived 🥹👌

people who run to genAI for their edits never had to learn professional editing tools as a kid just to keep up with the latest forum pfp/banner trends with the only tutorials being from other kids writing essays on how to color correct a 100x100 icon and it shows

There is an absurd amount of resources that you have access to in milliseconds that I could never have DREAMED of when learning the basics of art and editing as a kid

Hey, anyone around here know a guide, video, tips, anything about rendering ffxiv characters/models with blender?

I know and already have resources/guides from different games and different ppl. I just really want to know if there's a more complete and exclusively done with ffxiv in mind

Oomfie mentioned he wished brio had a way to disable parenting of bones when you're posing and I realized this is information not a lot of people know. But if you select the bone you want, click on the Propagate icon and then disable Position and Rotation, it is no longer parented.

This is really basic, but sometimes I worry there's a knowledge gap because of an assumption that everyone knows the basics.

With ktisis (and brio soon too, I assume), reducing your cone angle and increasing your falloff angle is an easy way to give your lighting more depth.

I'm not dropping @s and, for me, this DOESN'T make anyone a "bad" person at all

This is mostly about the way that is talked about, and is not exclusively this case. If those are your tools of choice, then wear them proud, no downplaying it.

And I recommend the og waifu2x for upscaling. Not Adobe.

Yes, I stumbled upond the OG pic itself, instantly clocked it but it's just like any other day, not my problem at all, and if we go and call out *everyone* that's does this..

Look, I have my views on it and everyone else has their own, the point here is not even the *use* of AI at all, toss aside all morals about it but please at least own it, don't try to word it as if it's innate, inevitable, no way without it.. or the worst one "everyone's doing it nowdays"

People will

use AI back to back on stuff until it looks like any generic AI,

will say they use 'AI-assisted tools' not AI generation,

then proceed to say "well, it's in the tools I use, it's integrated there, it's pretty standard nowdays"

c'mon not how that works man..
