Discovered in 1975, the Corditaipe archaeological site is a Paleo-Indian encampment on a large glacial outwash in the upper Mohawk Valley. The State Museum is opening their collections for a unique look at the site.

In 1835 black newspaper publisher James Caleb Jackson was among abolitionists who walked the Abolition Road from Canastota to Peterboro, NY after being attacked in Utica while organizing against slavery. In October his descendants will join others to walk the route again.
