For peace to have a chance, it is not enough to simply recognise that international law is being broken, it must be enforced!

A failure to hold those responsible to account is to be culpable in their crimes.

September 21st marks the International Day of Peace.

There can’t be climate justice without human rights and peace.

NHNA and many other individuals and groups will continue to advocate for climate justice, a just transition, and a fossil fuel-free future in Ireland and around the world.

The post has a black background with the red NHNA logo in the top right corner. In the middle of the post there is a white dove and flowers arranged in a heart shape.

"marine rewilding is hugely important, not least because healthy seas safeguard fish populations, protect the land from coastal erosion caused by storms, improve water quality, and absorb and store vast amounts of carbon"

‘Data centres are putting Ireland’s energy system under huge pressure - with a 412% increase in electricity usage since 2015. This is pushing up the cost of energy for ordinary people’.

Make your voice heard, join the protest on September 30th!

The Climate Conversations 2025 survey is now open. The government is asking people to share their views on building a more sustainable future!

Some of the questions are poorly designed and risk encouraging climate science denial, so it's vital that strong, evidence-based voices are heard!

“Provisional Met Éireann data shows that summer 2025 is the warmest on record since 1900, when this temperature dataset began…Future projections show that summer temperatures are expected to continue increasing under moderate and high emission scenarios.”

The numbers speak for themselves.

While the ultra-rich sail on superyachts, millions across MENA suffer from deadly heat, drought & rising food costs.

Oxfam’s report exposes the climate injustice at play.

NHNA priorities include

🔴 Stopping new fossil fuel infrastructure
🟡 Advocating for a just and fair transition
🟢 Supporting widespread development of indigenous renewable energy

New data centre secures planning permission in Dublin, absurdly arguing that being powered mainly by on-site gas turbines means it will “play a part in Ireland’s decarbonisation strategy” - it’s the most deceitful yet common argument thrown out there.

Nice FT citing Ireland, where data centre power demand has massively outpaced clean power growth - meaning increased burning of fossil fuels

You can't rely on an assumption of infinite, exponential, unstoppable renewable energy to excuse data centre expansionism.

1. This is something I've been saying for 25 years, but it's hard to get many people to listen. What counts is not the new energy sources you add, but the old ones you retire. Unfortunately it's politically easier to build renewables than to shutter fossil fuels.🧵
