Riley Burnside & Niki Messmore, M.S.Ed.: For rural and urban groups, receiving a HCP's recommendation to get vaccinated is significantly associated with vaccine uptake. In one study, at least 70% of participants who received a HCP's recommendation to get vaccinated initiated vaccination. #NHPVC25

Dr. Marcie Fisher-Borne, & Dr. Kunal Saxena, Outcomes Research, HPV Vaccines: Current HPV vaccination rates for eligible mid-adults remain low, at less than 1%. Approximately two-thirds of those vaccinated are female. This is more evenly distributed for RSV and PCV. #NHPVC25

Dr. Shelli Larkin, Maryclaire Regan, Nyree Riley, Augusta University held 3 Vax Bash Events on campus, administering 36 HPV vaccines on site. Over 90% of students who attended stated they learned something and 100% gave a 5-star rating and said they would consider attending the next event. #NHPVC25

Erika L. Thompson & Ann Salyer-Caldwell, Immun. Collaboration of Tarrant Co, TX held 7 vaccine events in 2023, providing 19,868 vaccines, 1,279 of which were HPV vaccines. Among 618 post-event respondents, 83% reported it would be difficult to receive vaccines if the event was not offered. #NHPVC25

Mary A. Gerend, PhD, FSU College of Medicine: HPV cancer survivor narratives may be a promising intervention strategy for increasing HPV vaccine coverage. A narrative message detailing a parent's experience with an HPV cancer significantly outperformed the control message. #NHPVC25

Univ of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio: National data show that only 15.6% of mid-adults have ever been vaccinated against HPV. This suggests that the guideline could apply to a large group of unvaccinated adults in the United States. #NHPVC25

Dr. Jennifer Isher-Witt, Mission HPV Cancer Free, Systems are capable of tracking HPV initiation rates for ages 9-10. Returning partners generally have higher average baseline HPV initiation rates for ages 9-10 than new partners in the same project year. #NHPVC25
