Doing a half arsed Halloween this year.. For past 10+ yrs I have been assigned the door duties / given out large amounts of good quality chocolate & missed out on seeing the other cool stuff. This year will finally get out and about - hope the local kids behave themselves with this paltry offering.
Crazy as it is, you can kind of understand why LNP are going full nuclear cooker. ALP are so right wing these days most of their actions on climate/immigration/Israel/etc are indistinguishable from that of previous LNP govs. SSSsusan needs to stand out somehow if they want any votes at all.

The tragedy here is the vast majority of ultra Orthodox Jews are not actually protesting against the war or anything Israel is doing in Gaza/OPT - they just want others to do the killing for them. A large number of the them also live in settlements too. And they wonder why there will never be peace.
Since the 'Ceasefire' began - Israel has now killed 203 Palestinians in Gaza & violated the ceasefire over 80 times. Last night's mass murder by Israel (of 104 people) included 46 children + 20 women, and included another journalist (taking total # of journalists killed to 259).

This tool is handy if you want to verify that the Modbus stuff is properly enabled while the installers are still on site. If it's like VIC - they will need to switch it off when they are done/and it won't be re-enabled again until the inspector comes out days later.

yep - and their cust support staff didn't seem to know what we were asking about re modbus/ip addresses etc, probably outsourced & scripted support.
The modbus settings are only exposed in the installer app.
Like with the Enphase stuff - they have a 'installer' version of the app which has all the functionality enabled - the regular customer one is heavily locked down. The Sigen customer support isn't great - even they were on hold 45 mins waiting for support so you want to avoid having to use that.
I switched back to single rate a while ago - that works out better and with the battery/increased solar it's better for me to charge the EV during the day now too.
oh that's crazy pricey - I guess it's down to whatever bulk advance purchase they have done with the supplier in your area.
You may want to consider setting a static IP on the unit instead. The issue is system/inverter fires up when power is switched on (and at that point your switch/DHCP server has not yet booted up) & then it sometimes just ignores the reassignment of IP Addresses.
Yep - make sure the installers do that during the install/commissioning as the client App doesn't let you do anything (heavily locked down). The TCP/IP stack on the inverter is also buggy - was very hard to lock in the static IP Address too via my switch (even with Manual Binding against MAC).
Was thinking about Amber but they seem to be really cagey about what the actual purchase price is (and their site is half broken) - sort a lot of bad reviews too. OVO is expensive again right now & pretty much no-one is locking in rates for 12 months anymore either like they used to.
btw - have got everything working with HA. It's not quite as accurate as the Envoy (which we can still use to monitor total solar) - and readings are delayed a bit - but pretty useable still.
We have switched to Globird now - we are exporting basically nothing now (and FiT is nearly 0 in VIC), so it's all about cheapest daily/per kW charges. They have a plan with 22c/kW for first 250kW per month and then 25c after that so works out well with the battery so far.
Additional solar has worked out well too - even though most were placed in spots where they are either optimized for morning or afternoon, overall production is up by around 50% which is better than I'd expected. Seen peak generation of around 11.1kW so far with much wider curve.
Not a bad start, but Melbourne has delivered a whole month of mostly overcast days so haven't been able to test it to max capacity as yet (best has been 80%/40Kwh). Had a good run a couple of weeks back where we had no grid imports for 5 days in a row. Should be great in summer though.
Smallest violins playing for those "unfortunate" LNP voters (trying really hard not to say Right Wing Racist f-wits - oh whoops). Such a poor range of choices, none are popular - it's like being forced to choose between being poked in the eyes, kicked in the teeth or punched in the nose.

🚨 NEW: Just 13% of Australians think Sussan Ley is the best person to lead the Liberal Party, according to new Essential polling

Among Coalition voters, 22% think she is the best to lead, while 20% think Andrew Hastie would be better
Can anyone else here see the irony that a person whose *entire business model* is based around "not leaving people alone" wants to be "left alone". What's next, complaints from the paparazzi that people keep invading their privacy? 🤔
BREAKING: The Liberal Party of Australia has entered a (dead) horse called "Nuclear Power" in next Tuesday's Melbourne Cup. Despite bookmakers setting the odds at 1 gazillon:1, jockey Jane Hume is confident that it will win if she keeps flogging it. More to come...

Disappointing to see this from Microsoft, I definitely was presented no obvious options to re-new without Copilot (portal & email). Even more so for me as I've worked closely with Microsoft for years & help many clients integrate their tech - expect better behaviour.
