Warhammer plus looking great this week as always, but it’s an extra special one for me - check out arena of death and see if you can spot a familiar, dead killy face!
Some truly amazing Golden Daemon winners this week, but the one that I love the most is Matthew Siddy’s kroot. I’m a real sucker for a relatively “simple” entry executed absolutely flawlessly. Reminds me of Gavin Garza’s winning skink. Just gorgeous, immaculate technique.
I honestly have no idea if this is actually looking good, or if it’s an overly gaudy mess. One thing I know for sure, is that this model rules.
Working on the head to see how my army colours might work - so far so good I think.
Damn bluesky shreds video quality huh
I was really worried my Dominator would end up like some of my early Ork vehicles, so I’ve lost what is left of my mind and gone for a bright pinky purple bull dreadnought. Is this a mistake? I don’t know yet!!
Having another one of my stupid ideas
Shields added, and a dodgy picture of a 90% painted War Despot.
Desolation token idea working well enough though!
Still minus shields, the first unit of the spearhead is done now. I’m liking everything more as a full unit, and I’ll persevere with the spearhead - still unsure if I’ll continue past this and the underworlds unit however.
Bases aren’t done yet, and I honestly still don’t know that I love this colour scheme - but the spearhead has begun

These moronic Terranoids think they can just roll in here and take over my beautiful Tyrythian kingdom? The kingdom that I built from the ground up with my bare hands, and only sort of inherited from ...

I don’t usually toot my own horn, but I feel like the lighting on this one has turned out really nice.
Many test minis later, I think I am pretty much at a workable colour and base scheme for my helsmiths.

The actual models have quite a few more little details and extra parts, so it’s still daunting to get started - but the time is nigh.
Excuse the rough brushwork, just been slopping some paint around on my test pieces to try and work out how I’m going to paint these helsmiths. Not happy with anything here so far, but there are definitely bits and pieces I want to keep refining.
These are the photos and description I went with in the end. I don’t have a decent camera or lighting setup, and that’s something I’d really like to improve for next year!

That’s a line drawn under the entry, no more can be done. I hope you all got your entries done and submitted in time!
_The Oak in Chains is a 1500 point legal army list combining a cavalry heavy Nighthaunt army with the Lost-Song Spirit Sylvaneth regiment of renown, and was originally intended to be submitted to the Solo Entrant category._
Now the Oak in Chains marches in the wake of the Huntmaster's forces. As dark riders drive their grim hunting hounds forward in search of prey, the scraps they discard are swallowed by the wailing shadows in the trees.
When the Huntmaster's banshees alerted him to the presence of the Oaken Glade, he gleefully diverted his wild hunt through the heart of the forest, cackling as his Chainghasts smashed the bindings holding the maddened sylvaneth only to reforge them anew with forbidden death magic.
In an unprecedented alliance, the Sigmarite enclaves and Darkoath forest tribes worked great magic, and bound the spiteful forest revenants in sorcerous chains, deep in the heart of the woods.

But the will of Nagash is not so easily chained.
No longer able to hear the spirit's song, the Sylvaneth of the Oaken Glade were driven to cruelty and madness, turning their forest - upon which nearby mortals relied for game and forage - into a nightmare even the hardiest hunter did not dare enter.
AOP2025 submitted! With only two hours to go!
Balancing out the three regiments like this gives me 1980 points and three rounded phases of painting - so I think approaching this in two phases makes sense. Aim for the original 1500, then if time/budget allows, expand to 2k with a list shuffle.
Anyone got any other suggestions? I want to avoid riderless dragons like Krondys etc
