On the downside we lost the pub quiz (three members down and I am not mentally on form right now)

On the plus side we chose 'His Dark Materials' to be the wooden spoon round next week so even though I'm away due to birthday shenanigans I think we've got a solid 5 points squared away

Enjoying the House of Games question about pipes in an organ, knowing that we have over 5000 and we aren't anywhere near the largest 😅

Suddenly when puberty blockers are given to cis kids, the Daily Mail (the same newspaper which backed Hitler btw) finally admits that "their effects are not permanent, and once a child lets their blocking treatment lapse, puberty will just continue as normal."

Which is true for trans kids too.
Because it’s cis kids.
The NHS will quite casually give cis kids whatever treatment they need, even PBs👇
No trials. No concerns about side effects. No moral panic.
Now living in North Yorkshire every time someone says Richmond I have to remember they mean *this* Richmond and not the one in Zone 4...
When I got paid I bought myself a beanbag chair and created a little reading space because I have been awful at doing any reading recently.

Tonight I'm trying it out and I may never move again (except to make more cups of tea)

Next thing is to get a lamp so I can have it a little darker 🥰
I'm 31 in just over a week and I know this not only factually but also because I just saw an advert for a sock Advent calendar and genuinely considered it...
Two altar frontal changes, two carpets rolled up and carried the length of the building, 75 chairs moved, a wedding and an Installation of Canons when one has had 3.5 hours sleep has made for a wonderful but somewhat exhausting day.

But I love the variety of it, and the joy of us making it happen
The most excellent birthday party of a friend who decided to go with a soviet union theme because they are ridiculous, then painted and hid submarines around their flat for us to find. I'm just walking home now after being up since 6am but it was so so worth it
The downside of being here for nearly a year is that all the annual things need paying. Being an adult with bills is very overrated. My Halloween costume is the TVLicense fee
Dysphoria has been unexpectedly loud recently so I took myself off to the barbers (I had been growing my hair out over the summer) because the experience of being in the barbers in itself is gender affirming for me.

I will regret this haircut when the weather turns colder no doubt...
That reveal reaction was glorious 😅
He made a very fair point about the Claire Balding one 😅
The latest murdered faithful is going to crumble when they find out who one of the traitors is and I'm not sure I'm emotionally ready for it. And yes, yes, I am very unexpectedly invested in this show

Nothing like a spontaneous service of compline cobbled together by six trans people with access to a single tea light and a random tattered bible.
The Goodest of Dogs as we had the newest training police dogs come to do familiarisation training in the Minster building - I wish I'd got a picture of them sending the dog up to the Arch's Throne, the CT caption competition could have been superb
Does mean I get to hang out and look at one of our best banners though
Babysitting the sound system during Evensong because we've had gremlins all day that the tech guys couldn't solve was not on the plan for the day (nor was staying for Evensong but I'm covering illness) 😅🙃
Always good to start the day with a bit of beheading #DailyPrayer

youtu.be/LLM_J8YH8Fk?... Phenomenal sermon from Mark Oakley this morning. I dislike applause for such things in the main, but this was fitting as testament to honesty, integrity, and bravery of speaking his truth

It'd be worth sending them a message about this one Sam - they're a relatively small company all things considered, and would be very receptive to feedback I think.

I had an interview with them (on their warehouse side) but the commute time was going to be too much
