My job is to meet the smartest people on the planet and ask them what they’d like to rethink from the ground up, and also if there’s a good lunch spot nearby that they’d recommend.
My wife is very good at growing plants and I am very good at killing them.

Based on that, one might reasonably expect I’d be excused from gardening duties -but, unfortunately, the ability to kill (unwanted) plants is actually quite useful in the garden.

My current nemesis is English Ivy roots.

My friend and I are starting a Podcast (I KNOW) about sci-fi books, and we want to include some classics of the genre that don't get enough love.

@aptshadow.bsky.social - we're both fans of your work, and would love a recommendation of a classic sci-fi book you think should get more attention!

I’m auditioning a new aphorism:
“If you ever look around and realize no one is in charge, it means you are.”

If you haven’t watched The Adventures of Baron Munchausen lately, stop depriving yourself. That movie is a goddamn delight.

I am drinking a coffee, not to wake me up but to make the withdrawal headache go away long enough for me to take a nap.

Watching these two cats watch a (mostly invisible) bug is just as good as anything on TV right now.

Hot take: I just want to get ahead of the controversy and say that I believe Janelle Monae’s time travel story.

Is “6-7” a resurgence of the Dada movement?

No.

Is it fun to pretend it is?

Also, no.

Yesterday morning I ordered a breakfast burrito and they asked me if I wanted it warmed up.

I can't stop thinking about this.

Are there really people out there eating cold breakfast burritos?

Avi Loeb says 30-40% chance the Atlas Interstellar object is an alien ship.

DON’T THREATEN ME WITH A GOOD TIME

(FWIW - I interviewed Prof. Loeb once and he’s a very thoughtful, and intelligent guy -but I think he’s probably wrong about the alien stuff. Unfortunately.)
Astronomer: 30+ Percent Probability Interstellar Object Is Alien Craft Disguised as Comet
Despite data suggesting interstellar object 3I/ATLAS is simply a comet, Harvard astronomer Avi Loeb still thinks something is off.

The Press really should be asking Trump the important questions, like:
"What year is it?"
"What day is it?"
"What city are you in right now?"
"Who is the President right now?"
"How many fingers am I holding up?"

Absolute Wonder Woman by @kellythompson.bsky.social is the best comic published by DC now.

Even though it’s set in a universe dominated by Darkseid, the literal god of fascism, it delivers a Diana who is more … delightful? Kind? Patient?

It plays against expectations, and delivers on every level.

I just want to let you all know I was taken up in the Rapture today (which was also a surprise to me!) … but the line for badges was really long, and I had to pee. So I waited, like …. 45 minutes and then gave up and took the slide back down.

Next time!

Hey @stevemartinreally.bsky.social ! This season of Only Murders In The Building is great so far - but unfortunately I have to cancel my Disney+ and Hulu subscription to boycott ABC for caving to fascism.

Can you summarize the rest of the season as a bluegrass song?
