10th October and it’s World Mental Health Day. Keep talking. Keep listening. Keep being kind (to yourself and others). We are Nature and I’ve found this is where I heal best. Love to you all.

I’m thoroughly enjoying immersing myself in my creativity. As I do with my outdoor adventures, I enjoy placing myself at the edge of my competency, learning new skills and exploring what is possible.

The theme for #WorldSuicidePreventionDay2025 is “Creating Hope Through Action.”

In my experience it can be so easy to choose an inactive path when faced with severe mental health turmoil. We each tread individual paths but it’s good to share our experience in the hope this will resonate for others.

Today is #WorldSuicidePreventionDay, the theme, “Creating Hope Through Action”. I learned so much about myself on my recent walking adventure through Scotland. How I live with bouts of debilitating depression & powerful ideations to complete my suicide. Holding onto HOPE is key.

Ten years ago today I paddled into Eyemouth, completing my 1850 mile, solo sea kayak journey to all the RNLI lifeboat stations in Scotland. The past decade has been enjoyably adventurous as a result. 😊

Last night I thoroughly enjoyed giving my first official presentation about my recent walking journey. The Forfar and District Hillwalking Club were a wonderful and generous audience. Thank you to them for the dinner, the donation to Odyssey and the bottle. 😊

Two years ago today. Time marches on. This is my Forrest Gump moment, when I returned to Tobermory at the end of my year long sea kayaking journey around Scotland. The day I turned sixty.

Four images from the final day of my adventure. The weather was perfect. The scenery incredibly beautiful and the heather glorious. I’m so fortunate to have enjoyed this amazing three month experience.
