Buffalo Press Box Episode 95: No trade zone
Should the Buffalo Bills have been more aggressive at the trade deadline? Young players injected life into the secondary, Michael Hoecht's impact and Dalton Kincaid's playing time. Plus, the Sabres ar...

The #Dolphins signed former #Bills LB Jimmy Ciarlo to their practice squad.

LT Dion Dawkins, RT Spencer Brown, LB Terrel Bernard TE Dalton Kincaid, WR Curtis Samuel will not practice today. Dawkins has a concussion. #Bills

The #Bills have released WR Elijah Moore.

One is a result of the other.
I’m beginning to suspect it’s a scheme and Josh/OC problem. This feels like insurance more than anything

Regarding Brandin Cooks: I don't know how much he can impact the #Bills offense coming in (at 32) 11 games into the season. But perhaps Houston was a break-glass moment for the passing game that necessitated change. It would be a weird signing if it wasn't.

This isn't that abnormal for good teams. Take a gander at Parcells, Belichick, Reid and their reunions. But what hurts McDermott is lack of trust in the culture he's built. He's got to learn to trust his players to police guys who have questions but can help the team and believe they'll conform.
How many times the Bills have re-signed the same guys

Jordan Phillips-4x
Shaq Lawson- 3x
Jordan Poyer- 2x
Micah Hyde- 2x
Josh Norman-2x
John Brown- 2x
Vaxx Beasley- 2x
AJ Klein-3x
Gabe Davis-2x

Am I missing anyone?

Two things can be true: The #Bills practice squad discourse is weird. Especially at this time of the year when there's not much on the market. And signing Shaq Lawson is a bit ... weird.

Free agent Brandin Cooks has a skill set that would help the #Bills. Their offensive structure over the last 2.5 years doesn't seem to be interested in that skill set.
November 24, 2025 at 10:42 PM
The #Bills are giving up 96.5 yards rushing on 5.8 yards per carry in the first half and 52.4 on 4.6 in the second half. The #Buffalo defense is finding solutions far too late to be consistently good.

Slow-starting Bills defense finding solutions too late in games

Joe Brady? Josh Allen? Offensive line? A nasty Texans defense? Everyone shares a role in the offensive mess the #Bills churned out Thursday. A look into why Allen was sacked a career-high eight times.

Tale of the tape: Plenty of blame to go around for Bills' offensive debacle against the Texans
The offensive coordinator. The quarterback. The wide receivers. The offensive line.

The Texans controlled the first half offensively. It completely changed the way the game was played.
No XP resulted in not being able to go to overtime and so losing the game. The defense held them to 6 points from to really bad turnovers. Giving up one drive seems small against this. And the defense got the ball back after the 4th and 1 debacle.

They changed strength and conditioning coaches last year.
It seems like Babich is in over his head and Brady has run out of ideas. Change is needed; I’d like to see us bring in a couple of experienced coordinators with some fresh ideas. It may be a good idea to review our strength and conditioning practices as well.

Blame Allen. He wasn't good. It wasn't all his fault. But he owns some of those sacks.
Vanilla is generous but I actually don’t blame Josh as much here.

They ran a ton of extra lineman formations last year to buy him time and I saw almost none of that this game. Against those edge rushers!!

It's still cracked. Recall what happened in 2023. But it's grim.
Yeah window is firmly shut at this point.
November 21, 2025 at 5:40 AM
More concerning than the Texans battering Josh Allen like no defense ever has was that the #Bills didn't seem to have any answers. And now winning the AFC East seems like a pipe dream.

Sabato: Fierce Texans defense batters Bills to make AFC East title hopes a pipe dream
The Buffalo Bills saw their chances of winning the AFC East sleeping further away with every sack.

How about the vanilla defense at the end of the half? Or the least amount of pressure generated on a Texans quarterback this year?
Bobby didn't miss the XP and he also didn't throw 2 Ints. And the list of people why the Bills lost are Matt and Josh far ahead of any coach.
November 21, 2025 at 5:25 AM
Something that's persisted throughout Bobby Babich's tenure as defensive coordinator. Whether it's Atlanta or tonight, the #Bills bow up in the second half. But the first half damage adds up. At some point the game plan just isn't good enough.
November 21, 2025 at 5:16 AM
Step into the throw. He had time. #Bills
November 21, 2025 at 4:27 AM
I'm not sure anyone was on the same page there. Cook didn't move until he got the ball. #Bills
November 21, 2025 at 3:52 AM
At some point, Allen has to realize he can't hold the ball. He's been dreadful tonight. #Bills
November 21, 2025 at 3:21 AM
Davis Mills has thrown 10-plus passes 34 times in his career. He's been blitzed nine times per game. I've got the #Bills down for four and two were delayed.
November 21, 2025 at 2:51 AM
My goodness that was terrible defense. The Davis Mills-led Texans have 201 yards of total offense. #Bills
November 21, 2025 at 2:45 AM
#Bills kick returns were so bad two weeks ago that they had to sign Mecole Hardman. Suddenly Ray Davis is the best returner in the league.
November 21, 2025 at 2:37 AM
#Bills didn't seem to think the problem was scheme last week. Still bumping gaps every time Houston motions. And Houston runs where they used to be.
