I don’t have a sweet tooth, but dry Marsala is smoky rather than sweet, and I use it often in savoury cooking. It’s more like a gutsier, (and sometimes rougher) Amontillado!

Actually, I often use Marsala and, yes, shallots too as I have chopped shallots in the freezer and rely on them often!
