But eliminating VAT/regressive taxes, is not the same as UBI or negative tax, its a very different concept.
We not giving money, people keep more of theirs

Really most of these programs should be abolish and instead of them you cut regressive taxes like VAT letting people keep more of their money, this lower thel oad more on people of lower income

I think we both agree UBI is in most cases is better than welfare XD

The issue, not everyone wants a lot of money, some people would be happy with a UBI that allow them to live and not put back into the system (doing work), and that's a problem, because makes the model unsutaineable long term

well on the top of my head, wrong incentive, you get rewarded for doing nothing, sure there are motivated people who can make great use of it, but that's not the norm, there was some long term study I think, and is not a silver bullet, that said, would be better than wasting it on useless bureucracy

There are still people at conventions telling me, "They won't ban porn!" but these ID verification laws already have. Because there is no federal, safe and secure way to make those verifications happen; we will simply see site shut down or ban porn all together. You have to be realistic.

I do think UBI has some problems... But, do agree would be way more efficient to end most social programs and instead give that money to the people, each one know its needs the best and eliminate a ton of overhead
But we have to accept some people will just throw that money away and ve even worse of
