I WILL always elevate my neighbors voices when laws are unjust & I will use my privilege to pursue change. I am so TIRED of change happening w/o truly seeking what the community wants. Recently…rezoning of schools, towing when one forgets its street sweeping day (no signage), broken promises & more!

…some elected off. are sadly the obstacle too. Most do a lot of good & then theres a defining MOMENT or two where elected officials have power to make change to laws/initiatives; ex: st. sweeping towing will disproportionately affect neighbors (esp. public housing).Posting for awareness & a reminder

2 yrs ago my friend DJ @urbaneastnash.bsky.social asked if we needed pumpkins for youth. I said yes but initially I didn’t realize the power of a pumpkin, now I do 🧡He is collecting funds again so that over 100 youth can have one. Consider sacrificing one pumpkin latte this week & donate $10 🙏🏾

Tonight was one for the books. CM Ellis was livid about something. Not sure all that energy was warranted given the Nations isn’t her district but I didn’t hear what was said. If we were in pedagogy she would’ve gotten a coaching on RR because its still not her forte 🫣

For those wondering, folks must recertify each yr w/MDHA & when they do not their rent goes to market rate. The covid rent pause affected this mom’s situation. She was dealing w/postpartum, abuse and did not recertify. My friends know the 11 yr twins tare amazing thespians ❤️

to offer MDHA half but they said it needed to all be paid but was hopeful Metro Action could help. Who has pull at Metro Action? I know funding has been cut but we have been waiting to hear back. School starts soon. The sets of twins are separated. I have cared for the 11 yr twins. 🙏🏾 any help 3/3

2/ I shared the story of J going to college last yr. So many helped him. 🙏🏾When he left his fam was staying with a neighbor but that neighbor moved. His mom MDHA balance was $13K! I met with Dr. Troy (Ty Zulfat) from MDHA & they have changed rules where balances can never get that high. We tried 2/

I came to X fam last yr & hoping to get connects here. For those wondering J came home from UofA for a couple reasons, mainly his mom is STILL homeless. Who has connects to Metro Action? I have helped raise $5k but $8K remains. This sweet fam has been w/o a place for 20 mths😥 School starts 8/5. 1/

My first vlog and its about moving my car to comply w/new street cleaning times & avoid a citation. I found out that around 11am one of my neighbors got one. 😬 NDOT pls don’t tow as folks forget. It’s been a long week. Oh and I should bike to work more often 💜

Thanks for showing this. With your gps map you have to add 15-20 min walk to Hermitage avenue from Charles E Davis or University court (public housing streets). The elem. school is even a distance a way for some.

Public middle school in the South Bronx. Our students applied to go there and some took a bus or train that took them 45min and that’s a lot in NYC. If students make a choice to attend MHS they know they have to make it their own time we just have to help them get there. 2/2
