I did some more experimenting and this tactic came out, so I thought I'd give it a go with Newcastle. It's great fun. And good. Albert averaging 8 at sideways sweeper. Shearer doing what he does. No signings.

It's our first game in the second season, after being promoted last year. We get Milan away in the cup. To everyone's surprise we go 2-0 up. I start recording to see which elaborate way the CPU will screw us...

As this tactic continues to punch above above its weight I have noticed one thing. How vital it is for the left DC (always no.3 for me) is your best defender. AND captain. We have lost 5 of the 6 games my brilliantly named Italian, James Wilson, has missed.

This tactic has done great with Doncaster and AZ so i thought i'd take it to Wimbledon - who I gave John Hartson too. The CPU dealt us stinking fixtures, showing it doesn't fancy us much. But how would you assess this start? Good or bad?

Here is an example of when a keeper, Baarden, cannot handle the arrow! I wonder if it's an age thing. 30+ or late 20s and top level seem to do better

I've gone back to testing to try and create something that overloads the CPU.. and I think i've got it. Martyn creating an extra man in midfield. Quite brilliant first campaign with Leeds to finish 2nd... but you should see season 2...

Igor Tudor, probably now my favourite DC to own. Wow. He's a must-buy. Averaging 7.96 !

Don't worry everyone, the striker coming back thing is over. But i'm gonna take the principles and apply them more practically... Meanwhile a new save idea has started... Any guezzez what it can be....?

It worked with Pompey, but does it work for Inter? Yes. in a word. Often tactics don't translate. We actually lost the first league game, Ronaldo leaving the field with a knock, and were lucky to beat Parma but after that the machine started purring.

I'm just fascinated by ideas that bend the CPU... I decided to this with Pompey, who are not good enough to be promoted... SC going all the way to sweeper. It's significantly overperforming. Aloisi, like Stoger at Ipswich, benefitting enormously. Just interesting isn't it?

Ipswich are back in the PL, and we have been BUSY. Bringing in no less than 10 players (yes that's how thin the squad was). Notably the returning prodigal son, Dyer, the straight up starlet Joe Cole and one of my favourite strikers Branko Strupar.

Start of season 3. Two major injuries at centre back to Hyypia and Tudor and we've fallen apart. Club record loss to newly promoted Sevilla. I think that's the Reverse Libero experiment over, sadly.
I got fired immediately after this game. Seems harsh after two 3rd place finishes
