Lying fagman Farage in his relentless pursuit to feed his narcissism fabricated polling data about who’s the most trusted politician on the economy. In reality, 53% of people distrust him, worse than Badenoch, Stride, Polanski, and Davey. In net terms, both Polanski and Davey rank ahead of him.

I'm like @listentotimesradio.bsky.social but this mornings disproportionate kicking of BBC reeked of the right-wing press. #therestisentertainment had it right recently saying how much BBC gets right & little wrong, despite size. Time we did a lot more celebrating of a remarkable, unique UK asset.

Autumn has definitely arrived - but, as usual here - beautifully. The garden is going to sleep, albeit, briefly. So grateful to be at home, here in Mombaruzzo and Piedmont. It's a magical time. #garden #autumnvibes #piemonte #villamenaluna #mombaruzzo #italy

We were told #Brexit would save billions.
Instead it cost billions, and the Treasury scrambles for every pound.
Wages stagnate, taxes rise, services fall.
The public pays for Farage’s fantasy. He complains it’s not the right sort of Brexit. He walked away. We pick up the tab. #faragetaxes #rejoineu

A Murder of Quality (1991) & the magnificent Hotel du Lac (1987) were two of Denholm Elliott's last performances - and he's peerless in both. They're also two of my great favourites. I adore Anita Brookner and John le Carré too, so even more reason to love them #mustwatch #classicdrama

Rewatching'The United States of Amnesia' about the magnificent Gore Vidal. It's a brilliant political biographic. I could watch it again & again, even though it brings a tear to my eye. Probably should be on the curriculum #gorevidal #mustsee

Adding to previous post I've also become addicted to #therepairshop - just brilliant - and Amanda & Alan's Italian Job. Great entertainment.

Late to the party, but completely agree - not for the first time - with my great friend Henry Branson -
that Conclave is a top film from 2024. Stunning. I'm going to add a couple of amazing series to the list: the incomparable Fellow Travelers & equally stonking Black Doves. Both blew me away.

I've always loved Jay Rayner, but for me, with this new book 'Nights out at home' he's edged into national treasure status. It's a great read, full of fab recipes of course, but just so honest, funny and human. #food #cooking #recipes

Inspired by the late & deeply missed Felicity Bryan I speculatively planted an old rose variety, L D Braithwaite not expecting much. But, it thrived, blooming all season. As I plan the new garden it's at the top of my list, and as before, I will thinking of her every time I see it. #gardening

I'm in a state of shock & still trying to process yesterday's shameful, traitorous debacle in the WH: A DAY THAT WILL LIVE IN INFAMY. Our standing in the world has plummeted overnight, but the repercussions will be felt forevermore.

Kemi Badenoch playing blatantly and pointlessly to the far right gallery with citizen policy nonsense. Typically nasty, vacuous and missing every meaningful argument from the minuscule tories. #irrelevant #pointless

I vividly remember seeing Bowen & Bob at the cafe outside my office at The Donmar. I didn't know who they were at the time, just stunned to see such a well behaved puss sat with his owner. I wonder now if it was a meeting about the book. #happymemory #bobthecat
