Maybe he gets caught by Roland and he tells the child he is safe, not entirely beliving in his story, thinking it's just childish nightmares. But freezing when he see the exact people hershel described years ago at his door, looking for the two siblings. 3/4

So I can't stop thinking of your AU (like weekly minimum) and I just can't stop thinking about what we saw in the miracle mask flashbacks. Targent went to the layton's house to see c!hershel. The only reason they didn't take him that he wasn't home.
