But I can stop and appreciate small wins. Like my job now while difficult I have a really great manager. I have so much love for things in my life and wow I can take a minute to appreciate them.

He was so confused why I was told I had arthritis in my thumbs. He said “no your joint space looks fine. These look fine. My guess is you’re experiencing some joint laxity which can be totally fixed by strengthening your hands and specifically a cmc brace. “

I went to an ortho doctor today to look at my hands. Good news: no carpal tunnel (probably) better news: 4ish years ago a doctor I saw for thumb pain saw mild degeneration in my thumb joints. The doctor I saw today took x-rays and looked at me and was like “your thumbs are fine?”

Sorry immunocompromised patients, the upper admin requires I give at least three weeks advanced notice before getting sick or I get a mark on my record that could potentially cause me to lose my desperately needed job!

Yesterday was miserable.

I was yesterday years old when I learned my job… at a medical outpatient facility… does not allow same day call offs for illness without getting a mark on your record.
