Chocolate Chip City is cosy speculative fiction. Cosy for me isn't a lack of political reality. What makes something cosy is that the story is still a warm hug while engaging with the setting. The prevalence of Black joy, Black love and queerness was political AND joyous #blackbooksky #booksky

Yes I'm still reading Bloody Rose 😭 It's so long! I started the audio book of Harriet Tubman Live in Concert by Bob the Drag Queen and I'm kinda enjoying it. It's a nice way to ingest some black history. #booksky #blackbooksky

I didn't even know it was Black speculative fiction month but I just finished Loving Safoa and it was so fun! Brilliantly written, reflective, leisurely and well crafted. I also didn't realise Stone and Steel was Neon Hemlock. Maybe I'll try and get to that this month too! #blackbooksky #booksky
