If it only required bravery to be able to disclose abuse, it would be way easier for victims to do so. All survivors are already braver than they should have to be. Survivors need safety, access, and other people to be brave with them to stand up against rape culture.

As they say, “it takes a village.” It’s not a coincidence that many abusers just magically skirt responsibility and accountability while their victims are often ostracized and ridiculed. In many cases, enabling abuse is abuse.

Okay, hear me out though...An abuser putting out a public statement declaring their innocence while claiming the victim is lying, is, well, not actually proof of innocence. Morally speaking if someone is ok with SA'ing someone they are likely going to be ok with lying about it.
