This Yamadai Sugomen Green Onion Miso Ramen is the last review in the series of products picked up for me in Guam, and I saved it until the end because it's the largest and, frankly, most exciting one to me that my coworker brought back. This is a gigantic noodle bowl from Yamadai, one of the most revered noodle manufacturers in Japan.

Here's all the noteworthy noodle news you may have missed in October 2025! While last month's news post was pretty substantial, October has been more of a quiet month. There's a new Canadian noodle company that just launched their first product, a new American noodle company dominating social media, and some news and speculation about the future of the brand Chef Woo.

I've found that a lot of Japanese products that promise spice don't always deliver on the spice, even though they taste good. Hopefully this Nissin Cup Noodle Spicy variety brings the heat and the flavor in equal amounts. This is the second-to-last item brought back for me from Guam at Don Don Donki, so we're getting very close to the end of that assortment of noodles.

This Yamadai New Touch Original Kimchi Ramen is the fifth product from my Guam review pile, and is certainly one of the more interesting ones. This is, I think, a first for me: a Japanese manufacturer making a Korean kimchi stew instant noodle. And not just any Japanese manufacturer... Yamadai is one of the premier Japanese instant noodle brands, with a few dozen premium bowl products spread out across its various product lines.

This Nissin Jonetz Shrimp and Salt Flavour Ramen Bowl is the fourth item from Guam in my review pile, and like the Acecook product that preceded it, it is another Don Don Donki store-exclusive product under the Jonetz brand (check out the previous review for a little info on the Jonetz branding). Now on its own, the name of this bowl doesn't exactly scream "appetizing" to me - who cares about salty shrimp, right?

Here's another product found in Guam that I never knew existed: Acecook Jonetz Rich Tonkotsu Flavor Noodles. A little explanation here is probably warranted. In Japan, there's a chain of convenience stores called Don Quijote, affectionately called "Donki" for short. There are other Donki locations in other countries, and those international locations are under the name "Don Don Donki," like the one in Guam where this cup was purchased.

Here's another flavor I got from my coworker on his trip to Guam: Nissin Cup Noodles Tom Yum Kung. Prior to this write-up, I thought I vaguely remembered seeing this one advertised as a limited-time offering from Nisisn being sold in Japan several years back, but I also see other mentions of it going back nearly a decade, so either I'm wrong and it was always a permanent part of the Cup Noodles product line, or it was one of those flavors that was so popular that Nissin decided to bring it back and keep it around.

One of my coworkers recently returned from a trip to Guam and brought me quite an assortment of noodles cups & bowls that I'm going to be reviewing over the next little while, starting with this Interfresh Instant Rice Noodle Pho Tomyum Flavor. I'm starting with this particular flavor because it's the most interesting to me - it's a Japanese brand I've never reviewed before, and I've never seen something that touts itself as both pho and tom yum before, so this should be quite a ride.

Given that we're coming out of a massive summer heatwave, I thought maybe it was time to review this Nissin Cup Noodle Tropical Seafood flavor. This is a limited-edition Japan-only variety from Nissin that pops back into existence every once in a while, and this particular instance of it is the "BIG" cup, meaning it's much larger than a standard Cup Noodle size.

I spotted this Roland Beef Flavor Noodles Cup in my local Grocery Outlet a couple months ago and decided to pick one up. I'd never heard of Roland Foods before and I'd never seen this in my life, but let's check it out and see if it's worth your while!

Here's a Japanese variety from Maruchan that I stumbled upon online totally by accident several months back: Maruchan QTTA Green Smoky Mayonnaise Ramen. Direct from the translation of Maruchan's press release about this flavor, it is a "creamy soup based on the delicious flavor of chicken, with a moderate amount of smoked flavor and green chili peppers, and the sour and rich flavor of mayonnaise." Sounds really promising!

Here's all the noteworthy noodle news for August 2025! There's an interesting new pair of flavors available from Ramen Bae, some new products from Nissin that you might spot in your local supermarkets, and some troubling news about ordering noodles to the USA.

This Nissin Cup Noodles Protein Rich & Savory Beef Flavor is the final one of Nissin's currently-available Cup Noodles Protein products, and I haven't been overly impressed with the line thus far. Although the added bone broth protein does its job in making you feel fuller, the flavor has been a little lacking all-told. Maybe this beef cup will end on a higher note?

Time for the second of three entries in this new Cup Noodles offshoot product line, with this Nissin Cup Noodles Protein Hot & Spicy Chicken Flavor. Check out the Rich & Savory Chicken Flavor review if you'd like to see how the first one went. This one is the only spicy entry in the line, and because it's got a little spice, my suspicion is that I'll like this one a little more than the agreeable but generally unremarkable base Chicken flavor.

This Nissin Cup Noodles Protein Rich & Savory Chicken Flavor the first review (of three) of a small new product line from Nissin that just started popping up in July 2025. These are protein-enhanced Cup Noodles flavors, containing 16g of protein per serving, which is a 10g increase over the standard 6g included in the normal Chicken flavor. The announcement page on nissinfoods.com implies that this twofold increase in protein is due to the use of bone broth in the ingredients and not necessarily an overhaul of the noodle itself like…

A while back I had my first taste of Nissin's U.F.O. noodles in the form of the Hong Kong export version, which I was lucky enough to find at a local Asian convenience store. The other variety I picked up from that store around the same time is this one, another Hong Kong export variety that is a "super hot" yakisoba flavor.

This is a variety that came out of last year's final ZenPop Ramen subscription box, and it's something I've been keen to try for a while. The bagged version used to pop up over on Yami every once in a while and I always missed grabbing it when it was in stock. Now I finally get to try it, albeit in cup form.
