I picked up my grandchild at school at 4. Snow began falling at 5. 45 mins later and it's covered everything and traffic is snarled. Don't know how her dad is gonna get here to pick her up!

Morning Christmas Tree vs Cats Destruction Count: the tree itself is encased in a giant clear plastic sack so they can't climb it or grab the ornaments. It's tied down so they can't knock it over! But the tree skirt's been pulled all over and the tiny Christmas Village is missing several pieces.

Morning Christmas Tree vs Cats Destruction Count: the tree itself is encased in a giant clear plastic sack so they can't climb it or grab the ornaments. It's tied down so they can't knock it over! But the tree skirt's been pulled all over and the tiny Christmas Village is missing several pieces.
It's very cold here and we're expecting more snow tonight, so instead of snowy garden scenes, I chose really bright collages for Roses for the Soul. Just looking at photos of nature can have the same effect as being out in it, so may these lovely pictures brighten your day.

Well, the threatened snow barely arrived, but boy! Is it COLD out there, with terrible winds. So, brightly beautiful flowers and auroras for Roses for the Soul; we need the beauty. Most of these photos were garnered and gratefully used from Bluesky posts.

The snow was supposed to start here at 10:00 a.m. It finally started about an hour ago, but it's making up for lost time!

I was out w/friends when a woman, a stranger, came up to me, asked me if I still had 'the orange cat'. Turned out she was from my neighborhood back when I was trying to find a home for Puffy Socks using NextDoor. I explained that he had passed, but he was the best cat I ever had; that I had (1/2)

We are heading into a snowstorm here today, so I decided that Roses for the Soul desperately needed some bright spring flowers to counteract the weather. Lovely photos that were found here on Bluesky and combined to make these pretty collages.

Something about the shooting yesterday doesn't feel right.
It feels too convenient. A vetted Afgan national that was granted asylum, randomly shoots a National Guardsman near the WH for no reason right when the NG was set to leave DC because there was no violence.
Now the NG is not leaving DC.

Such an uncomfortable Thanksgiving. My daughter, her husband and my grandchild weren't invited to our family Thanksgiving, so of course I had to abstain, too. Went with them to his family's Thanksgiving, but they've had major disagreements and they're all Trumpers. I felt lost and so very sad.
