It’s not about depth; it’s about velocity. We don’t consume and then form opinions; we perform opinions in real time. The hot takes were queued before the first stream ended. The first to strike wins, even if they get the specifics wrong. open.substack.com/pub/patternr...

Full disclosure: I talked a big game about how cool decentralized platforms were, but I really couldn't wrap my head around how it worked or what it meant. So I had a snack, and then I figured it out. What the Hell is Decentralization Anyway?

I’m a Marshfield resident who had to work Saturday but was delighted to read this great article. We moved here in 2021 and over the last 3 months, it seems like there are fewer Pro
DJT signs posted every week.
Striking that there was no local press present, as far as I could tell. I only covered for @motherjones.com bc I was visiting home. How many other towns had protests that weren't covered?

The decimation of local journalism will obscure mass mobilization to Trump.

My Trump-Loving Massachusetts Hometown Just Showed The Hell Up

Once again we find ourselves in the middle of a flurry of discourse and scathing think pieces demanding individual responses to systemic issues. (This is about the "all parents are in hell" convo, but I'm sure I can post the same thing weekly and it will apply because we never change.)

Cory Booker’s team did an impeccable job with prep. So many notes taken from some of the best political playbooks- I kept looking up if “moral moment” was used before because it’s so early Obama coded (in a great way).

My almost 4-year-old daughter has stepped into her Disney princess obsessed era and my elder millennial self is SHOOK to see that the greatest Beauty and the Beast parody, Bonjour Girl, came out 13 YEARS AGO. But it’s never a bad time to recirculate this treasure. youtu.be/pcuI6K9daIw?...

I’m 99.9% sure that the nail salon I was just in was playing AI country radio and was shocked at how deeply unsettling it was to sit through for 45 minutes. I was on the verge of a psychotic break. I was Shazamming, searching lyrics, and eventually just started recording it so I’d know it happened.

Three podcasts that stopped me in my tracks this week: a deep dive into digital ethics, a powerful personal story, and an audio drama that hit hard. Looking for something that challenges, inspires, or lingers after you hit stop? Start here.

Hey Disney/Pixar- can we get an entire Inside Out spinoff in which Riley’s mom deals with PPA/PPD or even just perimenopause/menopausal emotional changes? Because I keep wondering what THAT looks like at the control panel.
