@parlcharlie.bsky.social how are messages transmitted between the two houses of Canadian Parliament given that they’re sitting in different buildings, so you can’t just carry them between the chambers (is that normal Canadian practice anyway?)

You could actually see the safety cars lights come on exactly as the message comes up on screen. I wonder if either the driver has super fast reactions (as he should) or there’s some kind of automated process for the SC lights/messages/activation

Disappointed that you would post something like this

Is that so different from the scenario you presented, wherein an MP may complain about delays, and that complaint may translate to political pressure? If Hewart CJ’s dictum is anything to go by, I would be led to conclude that even the appearance of improper interference cannot be accepted

I’d imagine it potentially could be. I once read of a Canadian minister being forced to resign for asking a judge when a decision may be delivered. Although the action of an MP may seem innocuous, an unintended result could be that the judge is pressured - politically - to deliver

I wish they repainted the unit that 455868 is attached too, I think it looks a bit awkward otherwise

I imagine the principal argument is private ownership is moreso, given how key industries are working right now

This is incorrect. Clause 6(1) provides that the Bill extends to Scotland, that’s why the Scottish Parliament had to grant legislative consent for the Bill (see minutes of Scot Parl dated 31 October 2024). The Bill very clearly applies to Scotland.

I’ll admit it isn’t a perfect match, but trying to recreate a photo you didn’t take is a lot harder than it seems… perhaps I should try again if Surrey gets some snow

This is the Teton County District Court, so it wouldn’t be particularly strong precedent - less so outside of Wyoming
