No one wants to read me yap about this. In brief: Imagine if, after releasing Poison promotionally, the show airs and that's the only time he's in focus. The rest of the time, he's relegated to the background where he's miserable.

Poking my head back in real quick bc of the backlash to ppl disappointed by Lute's role this season. I don't have a media literacy issue. I'm insecure about a lot of things, but that's not one of them. I love so many things about the show... but this also ain't one of them.
I've slept on it, and... yeah, I'm still pretty down about S2. There was a lot to like. The animation was gorgeous, the songs slapped, and the pacing was much better than S1- But it's not sparking joy. Hopefully, Lute gets a great arc and I can revisit S2 without that dark cloud over my head.

Admittedly, "someone is menstruating" rn. 😩 Maybe my opinion will soften once I'm not feeling my emotions so intensely. But either way, I wanna stop crying over my hyperfixation. So I'm probably checking out of fandom for now and going to throw new stuff at my brain until something sticks.

Hellaverse gets so much hate that I don't even like to complain. I'm happy a show like this exists at all, but this season has left me distrustful of the writing and nervous for characters who are important but not creator favs.

I get that he's your main antagonist for the season, but it was so much more attention than Lute and Adam got in S1 that I'm a little concerned the care and attention paid to characters will hinge on who the showrunners' favs are. Alastor had more agency and attention while tied to an f'ing chair.

I just hate that they gave her these intriguing character moments and fantastic song and then did nothing but have Heaven humiliatingly sideline her for the rest of the season. After that, it was The Vox Season. If the show had more time in a season to tell a story, I'd have LOVED it. He's great.

setting lute up for a s3 antagonist is great and all, but i hate that she was set up in a big way in episode two then sidelined completely by both Heaven and by the narrative. Then she gets a moment in the finale and it's just to give Abel character development. it's kinda killed my enthusiasm.

i feel you... well in spirit. my soul-sucking sadness is all lute-related. hate feels like a strong word, but I definitely feel like i'm in the corner pouting and quietly resenting everyone having fun at a party rn.

there was a lot that i loved, but the stuff with lute being SO anticlimactic left a sour taste in my mouth this season. idk. there was so much to love, but i'm too frustrated to enjoy it like i want to.
