Happy Thanksgiving, y'all. 🦃

Thank you for your interest, passion, and support of the organization. I hope everyone has an enjoyable day.

The #Canes' practice at Lenovo Center looks like a limited/optional one. Only eight skaters (listed below) and Brandon Bussi are on the ice, with (1/3)

Chicago ran it up tonight in Rockford, winning 8-4.

Skyler Brind’Amour (2G, 2A) led the way with a four-point showing.

Gleb Trikozov (1G, 1A) and 18-year-old Ivan Ryabkin (2A) had their first multi-point games as pros in North America.

Final.

The #Canes fall to the Rangers, 4-2.

Shayne Gostisbehere scored for a second consecutive game, and Seth Jarvis found twine for the team-leading 12th time, but those weren't enough.

The group moves to 14-7-2.
November 27, 2025 at 2:49 AM
The Rangers hit the empty net with 1:43 on the clock.

4-2. Will Cuylle.

Seth Jarvis scores during the Seth Jarvis Showcase Game on /FDSN_Hurricanes.

Great timing.

A lot of folks expected Ghost to fire the loose puck in the slot, but instead, the extra pass works.

His backhand dish is placed perfectly, and the shot location from Jarvis couldn't have been better.
November 27, 2025 at 2:33 AM
Seth Jarvis brings the #Canes back within one!

Another fantastic play by Shayne Gostisbehere sets #24 up for his 12th goal of the season.

Former Hurricane Vincent Trocheck extends New York's lead to 3-1.

19:15 to go in regulation.
November 27, 2025 at 2:18 AM
40 minutes down, 20 (or more) to go. 2-1, Rangers.

A bummer to go back to the room trailing again, after the #Canes had tied it up and were easily the better team for the bulk of the period.
November 27, 2025 at 1:51 AM
Artemi Panarin gives New York its lead back with 1:04 remaining in the second period.

An absolutely wired one-timer after Vincent Trocheck won the offensive zone draw.
November 27, 2025 at 1:51 AM
Shayne Gostisbehere continues to be better than a point-per-game, earning his 15th in his 14th game.

When healthy, he's been excellent this season.

We hear the word "execution" often when it comes to the man advantage.

This was perfectly executed.
November 27, 2025 at 1:23 AM
The #Canes tie it up with a second-period power play goal!

Sebastian Aho wins the faceoff, and six seconds later, Shayne Gostisbehere lets it fly.
November 27, 2025 at 1:23 AM
Done with 20 minutes. 1-0, NYR.

The first month of the NHL season (10/7-11/7), the #Canes had a league-high 18 first-period goals. Outscoring opponents 18-9, the starts were a positive.

Since then (11/8-present), they've allowed 15 first-period goals, most among all clubs.
November 27, 2025 at 12:53 AM
New York opens the scoring with 3:07 left in the first period.

Noah Laba goes blocker side high from the far circle.

This was 75 days ago.

Now, all three have appeared in a regular-season game with the #Canes.

The number of injuries this season has been insane, but the moments it's provided for them, and Joel Nystrom, have been enjoyable to watch.

This is a switch at forward from what we saw this morning. Justin Robidas and Mark Jankowski have switched spots.

Mike Reilly will be the scratch, unless someone isn't able to go last second.

The #Canes during warmups before taking on the Rangers -

No Jordan Staal (illness) to start warmups for the #Canes. He'll miss a second consecutive game.

Justin Robidas will make his season debut, playing his third career NHL game.
November 26, 2025 at 11:33 PM
A small culture thing that's not to be overlooked -

It was initially announced that Sebastian Aho, Jordan Martinook, and Jaccob Slavin would be at the event to help distribute items.

As pictured, many other guys from the locker room showed up to help out as well.

Sebastian Aho (652 points) is set to skate in his 700th career game tonight.

Ron Francis (798 points in 700 games) is the only other player in #Canes/Whalers history with as many points through 700 games or fewer.
November 26, 2025 at 7:14 PM
Rod Brind'Amour said Jordan Staal (illness) is "very doubtful" to play tonight.

On Justin Robidas' recall:

"He's a great kid. He's quick and competitive, and he's been playing like that since we've had him. Obviously, it's not Jordo, but he's deserving of the chance."

#Canes morning skate ahead of a Thanksgiving Eve meeting with the Rangers:

• Frederik Andersen in the starter's crease. No Pyotr Kochetkov (LBI).

• No Jordan Staal (illness) either. Justin Robidas, recalled last night, is here.

• Jesperi Kotkaniemi (LBI) is skating in a no-contact (1/2)
November 26, 2025 at 3:47 PM
With Jordan Staal’s status in question for tomorrow, and the preference to not go 11-7 unless absolutely needed, Robidas comes up.

He showed well during his first two NHL games this spring, posting a goal and an assist.

An incredibly hard worker in all situations.

Post-practice updates from Rod Brind'Amour:

• Jordan Staal is still sick, and K'Andre Miller got banged up on Sunday. He's hopeful that both can play tomorrow vs. NYR.

• Pyotr Kochetkov (undisclosed injury) won't play tomorrow. He said again that the goaltender "just doesn't feel right" (1/2)
