A statement win for the Wolves, going into Grand Rapids and taking down the AHL powerhouse.

Ryan Suzuki (1G, 1A), Felix Unger Sorum (2A), Bradly Nadeau (1G, 1 A), and Justin Robidas (2A) all had multi-point nights.

Cayden Primeau was excellent in net, stopping 31.

Both Shayne Gostisbehere and Rod Brind’Amour pointed to this stop as a key point in last night’s win.

“It starts with Bussi’s big save,” the point-producing defenseman said. “If they go up 5-2, I don’t think we’re talking about (the comeback).”

The #Canes take their six-game point streak to the friendly skies this afternoon, flying to D.C.

There are no surprises at today's practice, which is always great.

If the "day before starter's crease" trend continues, Frederik Andersen would be in line to take on the Capitals tomorrow.

Jordan Staal with a profound description following tonight's victory:

"It's always nice to score goals, especially game-winners. It's making memories. I love the game. I love being a part of nights like this. You want more of them. You're chasing them. You're chasing those memories, (1/2)

Rod Brind'Amour on Andrei Svechnikov's monster night:

"I thought he was our best forward and maybe the best on the ice. He was impactful the whole night, really driving the play, and that's the kind of player he can be. If he can continue to do that, that bodes well for us."

Per the great /MoneyPuckdotcom, the #Canes had about a 1% chance of winning tonight's game with two minutes to go.

Incredible.

The #Canes are just the third team in NHL history to win in regulation after trailing by two goals in the final two minutes.

They joined the Dallas Stars (Oct. 14, 1995) and the Montreal Maroons on (March 15, 1932).

Jordan Staal said the #Canes were "just riding the wave" as they came from behind late to earn tonight's victory. 🌊

"To get those three goals that quickly and in that short period of time to win the game was really cool."

Three goals in the final 1:59 to win it. 😱

A finish at Lenovo Center we won't forget for a long time.

Jalen Chatfield gets the puck on net, Jordan Martinook tips it, and the Captain's there to tap it home.

What a game-winner.

W!

Are you kidding?!

The #Canes score THREE in the final two minutes to go from trailing by a pair to winning in regulation.

Unbelievable.

Shayne Gostisbehere and Andrei Svechnikov both had two goals and an assist, leading the way.
January 30, 2026 at 2:49 AM
A three-point night in his first game back from injury. That'll work.

Lenovo Center is rocking!
January 30, 2026 at 2:46 AM
No way!

Jordan Staal scores with 29.4 seconds to go, and the #Canes are in front, 5-4! 🤯
January 30, 2026 at 2:46 AM
Shayne Gostisbehere's shot from the point goes wide, but a favorable bounce hops right to #37 for an easy tap-in.

That's his 20th of the season.
January 30, 2026 at 2:45 AM
Oh my!

The #Canes tie it up with 1:27 to go.

Shayne Gostisbehere's second of the night brings it to 4-4!
January 30, 2026 at 2:44 AM
Andrei Svechnikov brings the #Canes back within one!

A power play goal with 1:59 remaining makes it a 4-3 contest.

Utah takes a two-goal lead with 12:49 to go.

Michael Carcone puts home a setup from Jack McBain.

40 minutes down, 20 (or more) to go. 3-2, Utah.

There's no shortage of physicality here for two teams who only see each other twice per year.

If the third period follows suit, this will be a highly entertaining finish.
January 30, 2026 at 1:58 AM
Seth Jarvis made a fantastic play to knock the puck out of mid-air, keeping play alive in the attacking end.

Thanks to a great net-front from Mark Jankowski, Shayne Gostisbehere gets back on the scoresheet in his first game back from injury.
January 30, 2026 at 1:56 AM
Mark Jankowski, operating with PP1, does a really nice job at the net-front, taking away Karel Vejmelka's eyes.

Gostisbehere now has 11 power-play points on the season.
January 30, 2026 at 1:54 AM
Utah counters, reclaiming their lead under a minute after Shayne Gostisbehere's equalizer.

Make it 3-2 with 2:05 to go in the second period.
January 30, 2026 at 1:53 AM
Welcome back, Shayne Gostisbehere!

The returning blueliner finds twine on the power play to tie it up at 2-2.
January 30, 2026 at 1:53 AM
Jesperi Kotkaniemi is shaken up after being put into the boards by Mikhail Sergachev.

Sergachev provoking the crowd as he made his way to the box, while Kotkaniemi lay on the ice, is... a choice.
January 30, 2026 at 1:52 AM
Kailer Yamamoto's second goal of the period gives Utah its first lead of the night.

It's 2-1 with 11:36 to go in the middle frame.
