An Educational Psychologist nee Maths teacher. Described as woke. The rule breaker who hates to comply except when solving mathematical problems. Too many things often happening in my head, a dreamer who just wants better life chances for all. 🍉 🧠⚖️

Chimamanda Adichie talks about the dangers of a single story. Oct 7th is a single story. This single story has been responsible for the murder of a child every hour, the starvation and torture of an entire group of people. 💔

One of my fave sessions to deliver for our Bristol TEPs this afternoon.

Evidence-based practice.

If you're interested in my ramblings about this I recorded an episode with @psychbites.bsky.social team a while ago

Hahahaha - phonics didn’t work me so I’m not a fan either
The irony, a 15 year old child was stripped of her British nationality & was not allowed to return home after being groomed into joining ISIS. And here we have a former lead of ISIS, al-Sharaa welcomed by the west with open arms and supported to becoming the president of Syria. Bonkers
It makes me sad to read this but then again I’m not surprised, the march on the 13th Sept normalizing hate and racism. Feeling uncomfortable and targeted in the city I was born in 💔
I’m pretty sure you are creative 💕 and as for technical art skills, they can be taught. I love your artwork. I got myself a watercolour set too and signed up to an abstract art course. Now my next step is to watch the videos! I need to see this post 😊
Thank you Laura, I just wish it would all stop, all my family want is to live in peace and my dad misses them so much 💔
I'm 💔Our family home in Syria was broken into & my uncle was mudered a week ago, his body is still there. Areas in Suwayda are still beyond the reach of humanitarian, human rights, and relief access, which remain under the control of forces ‘General Security’ #redcross #suwayda #Syria
I’m not quite sure how these people can be so aloof - no compassion or empathy 💔

The education select committee is about to hold session on school attendance where, says the committee, witnesses to be asked re unmet need among pupils with SEND, prevalence of mental health conditions, poverty, post-pandemic social attitudes. What about asking qs re what happens in schools?!
This is ethnic cleansing…I cannot believe no one is stopping this. Those who speak up are being silenced 💔 #Gaza
These people lack complete emotional intelligence. They fail to take perspective and so what benefits them rather than the people they are meant to protect.
Larry the Cat never disappoints 🎤 🔥
I going to be controversial here! I’m not really concerned about what a punk group said at a music festival. Actually I’m very distressed by the idea that babies are dying because they are being purposefully denied formula milk.
Woohoo!

💕❤️💕🙌🏽 best fruit ever!
Apparently we have a Labour Government…Sad times
Our comment: “We are calling on MPs to listen to disabled people and vote against the bill. The lack of consultation and the speed at which these reforms are pushed through means that only MPs can stand up for our rights and stop the misery and injustice that the cuts to PIP will inflict.”
NEW: Labour's planned disability benefit cuts could affect the majority of current working-age claimants with ischaemic heart disease, inflammatory arthritis, hip and knee disorders and Crohn’s disease, according to analysis of new DWP data

🧠 An important read in TES today, raising awareness of DCD, a condition that affects around 5% of children but often goes unrecognised. Understanding it is vital for supporting motor, social, and emotional development in the classroom.

DCD: the common SEND you’ve probably never heard of
Developmental coordination disorder (dyspraxia) affects as many children as ADHD but is widely misunderstood. So, what do teachers need to know about this condition?
