ran is a nine-tailed kitsune with short blonde hair and similarly colored tails. the outfit she wears is a long white dress with purple cuffs, accompanied by a blue tabard. she is wearing a mobcap adorned with tassles where her fox ears are, and with numerous gold & red talismans placed on it.

like on the one hand yes sure it's more condusive to headcanons and i guess maybe means more people can relate, but it also gives way too much power to people who cannot read subtext fucking at all and will begin to insist that their cishet reading of a character is 100% canon.
