Long overdue, but we need to ban the phrase "cool kids" with regard to social media sites.

Using "graduated" instead of "retired" originated in the idol industry. Basically "retired" makes the talent sound like they aged out, so they use "graduated" because it's youthful and cute.
Vtubers are similar to irl idols in a lot of ways, so they borrow a lot of terms like this one.

You are 100% right. First thing I thought after she got healed was "wow, what a downgrade."
Clevatess should have restored her teeth, healed her injuries and left the rest of her as is.
