Occasional Dabbler of Things
I'm starting to experiment with augmented reality and spent the past 2 days trying to get #Unreal to reference the blasted Android SDK's properly. I don't consider myself a fantastic programmer, but I felt this was a well earned victory. I'm taking a lap. Thanks to those who provided documentation!

Back to playing #D&D during the year! One of my players wanted to create a "sentient puppet". Think Pinocchio with a big sword and menacing attitude. We are testing a species option I made. Give it a look and try it out. Always curious to hear feedback!

Just finished a game design exercise! This is from “Think Like a Game Designer” by Justin Gary. Take a simple game and try to make it complex. Then see if it adds depth or improves the game. I started with Tetris and had to rethink things a bit. Fun exercise!

Played the #Dispatch demo recently. I enjoyed it and decided to write a small blog post where I look at the narrative system and some theories about how it works and plays into the Dispatcher role. More of a conversation starter if anything. Take a look if interested!

Came across this video some time ago, but a recent conversation with a family member prompted me to re-share. Pass this around to any family member or friend who needs a few tips on how to spot AI videos.

Recently played #hyperviolent. I wasn't expecting a whole lot, but I was pleasantly surprised with how well the game balanced its art, music, and game mechanics to create its experience. While its not perfect, I highly suggest a look if you enjoy first person horror games.

Well I just got my first victory crown in #fortnite. That was fun! No doubt there are more experienced players, but the matchmaking was good and I really liked the gameplay. Cool mix of mechanics for a variety of gameplay and choices. I see why it is so popular. I'll be studying fortnite some more!

Also attended #gdcnights where I saw a live band perform famous video game tunes; but they paired it with a choose your adventure story with input from the crowd. It was awesome. I believe their name was "next level", but I can't find their info. If anyone comes across it, please send it my way!

Didn't realize you could not post more than 4 photos at a time! Couple more shots of San Fransisco around the Moscone center.

Didn't get a chance to post during the conference, but I recently attended #gdc in San Fransisco. I met a lot of cool folks and had a great time at the social events. Not to mention it was great to see the city! Hope to visit again in the future!

@adammichaud.bsky.social just following up from our email. It was great to meet you at Pax and play your game "Don't Make A Sound". Hope to see it on shelves in the future!

@moreblueberries.bsky.social I picked up Project Ecco during #PaxUnplugged. I think I chatted with one of your stall partners and he sold me on it right away. Your stall had some of the more unique games I saw at Pax. Do you happen to have socials for your fellow creators? Would love to follow!

Took a break from the usual weekly routine. Decided to try out coloring with alcohol markers. Used them out on a D&D coloring book I picked up a while back. Not bad for first attempt. The shading by the original artists did a lot of the work, but I had fun!

Some screenshots of the current game I am working on! This is the final area before the finale for the entire level. The team wanted to focus on descending down and utilize darkness a bit more. Lighting still needs to be adjusted, but it is coming along!
